You could go really off the reservation with a really unique manual of arms like the P99 AS without even getting out of synthetic striker-fired gun.

Exactly, it's a Toyota because not everyone needs (or wants) a Ferrari.

My first G19 replaced my P228. The P228 cost a heck of a lot more than a Glock.

sure i just think an m&p with a smoother trigger, better sights and more features is the better buy for 100$ less. Like i said, the glock 19 is a very good gun but they’re charging a premium for it because of the brand.

Interesting way you choose to spin that. Several options were mentioned here and as I said i would offer advice. But it's their choice and if presented quality options they won't go wrong. This is not the 90's there many good options now and not much junk in that frame size.
