I was clearing out some more old partial boxes of projectiles by way of loading them of course (5 here, 30 there, etc) and came across some old 300gn WFN 44 magnum bullets I had from MBC.

I still had just shy of 100 bullets and I loaded them up over 15.4gn of Alliant 2400. My notes indicate about 1,000 FPS with this load and it's just shy of max. The 92 completed rounds all fit in one MTM box, I prefer 98 to 101 spare bullets for this reason!

As I was loading the large, high visibility cases with powder and easily slotting a bullet straight and true into the case mouths I realized I just really like loading 44. The case has the right size and ratio of length to width to be easy to eyeball case fill, seat bullets, they rarely tip, etc. What a great round to load, I think it's my favorite!

What rounds do you like loading the most?

Honestly, I never thought about. I don't mind loading any of them.
As far as the easiest, I agree that 40 anything and above are probably the easier to set bullets in, and see powder in then the smaller calibers.

I also like .44 mag to make my own. Since 1987 ... 90% of my ammo for my S&W 29 were my own Loadings.
Also enjoyable were .41 mag. Due to necessity , 1st reason. #2 The Accuracy out of my TC/Contender ; pretty darn impressive. Lot of satisfaction by the results.

35 Remington is not as easy , but I acheive fine accuracy from those ☆☆☆ 220 gr. Last loads were 180 gr. spire tipped (Contender)
& hunted / bagged some trophy exotic game, (Wild Boar, Rams, ) using those Handloads.

I like loading 250gr fp xtreme into .45 long colt. Easier and smoother than 230gr rn into .45acp. for me.

I only handload for a few handguns and a few rifles - my first was .38 Special, and I prefer to shoot a couple other cartridges, but loading this one puts more of a smile on my face. I haven't done any larger pistol cartridges, but you've got me thinking maybe I should start shooting them, just so I can reload for them.

Therapeutically, I like .357 and .44 magnum; really basic with lots of options. When I’m feeling more ambitious, I enjoy the several Ackley Improved cartridges I load for: .243, .260, and .280 AI. Just something cool about fire-formed brass.

I have equipment to load cartridges for every firearm that I own except maybe 16 gauge shotshell. The current count is north of 30 different cartridges.

I enjoy reloading most for what I'm enjoying shooting at the moment.

I really enjoy loading in general. 44 Mag/Special is always nice. Loading old/obsolete rounds like 30 Remington to keep an old classic running is very cool too. But for me, loading hunting rounds (303 Brit, 06, 7.5 Swiss etc) and ultimately taking deer with them is most rewarding and satisfying for me.

No favorites, a cartridge is a cartridge. I reload out of necessity, not for the fun of it. After 26 years, reloading has become almost a drudgery but I have no other choice if I want to shoot 2k a month.

For me .41 Magnum is getting to be one of my favorites really fast. They run through my case feeder as good as 9mm's do and run through my Hornady press just as good.
They are larger and easier to set bullets on then 9mms are and are just easier to work. 44 mags would be the same.

38 special with dewc or swc. not too small cases. low pressure round easy to resize, the bullets are easy to pick up given the profile, easy to look into the case and i like how the finished cartridge topples over when you turn the shellplate .

45 acp large enough case to pick up , again easy to resize and with swc easy to pick up but even with rn bullets easy to pick up.

i load 9 mm the most though.

I wouldn't say I have a favorite.

25 and 5.7x28 are easily my least favorite. Doubt I ever load either again

Pretty much enjoy it all.
From 460 S&W down to 380 ACP.
And occasionally 30.06 and 357 Herrett, but mostly handgun.
I primarily shoot 44 Rem. Mag., so that would be a favorite.

Love loading cast in my bolt, varmint rigs. 7-08 being a real favorite.

Handguns would be probably 45acp. Love getting the jam on a swc tuned in with the gun's springing. Been loading 44 mags recently for target work, and is shaping up nicely.

I've always enjoy the Ackley's got 222AI,.243AI,(2) 280AI and 35 WhelenAI. My other one is 284 on long action.
