Paging Ephraim Kibbey and other blackpowder gurus: who made this dragoon?

M.O.F.R.A. was Mainardi Officina Fabrica Replica Armi of Italy. Their Patersons (as far as I know their only replica) were imported by Replica Arms of Marietta, Ohio. They continued to be imported by Navy Arms after it bought Replica Arms circa 1970. Mainardi and his brother formed Euromanufacture a few years later and made the same Paterson marked with their new logo of two interlocking diamonds and with a new serial number range. They also expanded into the manufacture of other models as well as accessories (there are lots of brass molds out there marked "Euromanufacture.") Euromanufacture should not be confused with Euroarms which is a wholly different company. Circa 1980, Palmetto bought Euromanufacture and continued making the same Paterson for a short time. It in turn was gobbled up by Euroarms and then it fell to Pedersoli. While there were one off American made Paterson replicas, none were mass produced here. After Palmetto stopped its Paterson, Uberti and then Pietta filled the market.

Anyone know who was making Walkers besides ASM prior to 1980?
I could not tell from the video whether the Walker was an ASM or not but a sure tell is the space between the banners on the cylinder. All Dragoons (except Baby) and Walkers that ASM made have that space filled with the same scroll work as 1KPerDay's ASM 3rd Model Dragoon has. Uberti, like 1st. Gen. Colts, often has that space blank or blank with the serial number in the center. If and when ASM marked the serial number on the cylinder, they put it at the end of the Colts Patent banner. Period EMF catalogs advertised that their ASM Colt replica's internal parts interchanged with those of original Colts and that they were the closest replicas to the originals. As far as I know, only ASM, Uberti and Palmetto made Walker and 1st., 2nd. and 3rd. Model Dragoon replicas. ASM had by far the widest variety of models. After they went out of business in the AWA fiasco circa 2000, their manager married into the Uberti family and went to work for them. Uberti soon took over supplying EMF and Cimarron with the 1873 clones that ASM had been making for those importers. Coincidence???

Got the Walker back from Jackrabbit1957 tonight! It feels incredible!

pics for any interested. I’ll do a review/video/overview of all the repairs/work after I shoot it.

The gun looks super, and it has such a low serial number.
Jackrabbit1957 is a real hero for bringing it back into action.
We're very fortunate to have his services available to work on such an old project gun.
I'll bet that getting that Palmetto to run smoothly was not an easy task.
Thank you Jackrabbit1957 for being dedicated and using your skills to help others.

I also need to thank Mr. 1Kperday for entrusting his heirloom pistol to me to do the work. He took a chance on me to do this sight unseen and not knowing if I were a real deal or some hack that might have botched the whole job. I really appreciate his trust and confidence.

Thank you sir! It was a pleasure to meet you and from what I can see so far your work is top notch. It feels 2389% better and locks up like a bank vault. I never would have believed it. I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with the 3rd Model Dragoon (and hopefully the Paterson eventually).

Just so people have an idea of the work @Jackrabbit1957 needed to do on the Walker (and this is likely not even a complete list):

Arbor corrected and cross pinned so it won't unscrew, barrel to cylinder gap set to .006, Cylinder face trued up, had about .008 run out. Rebuilt hammer safety notch, timing corrected (I love how Jackrabbit1957 just glosses over this bit; this involved welding up the hand and re-fitting plus a bunch of other work LOL), action shield installed, Ruger type hand pushrod and spring installed, bolt guide fabricated and installed, arbor wedge slot fixed and fitted, wedge, hand and bolt guide case hardened, forcing cone reamed into breech end of barrel, music wire springs installed, removed the nipples and cleaned cylinder bores, installed new nipples with anti seize, checked cylinder to bore alignment, fitted new Uberti main spring (ASM spring wouldn't interchange; original was broken and brazed together), sourcing and replacing a grip frame screw that was the wrong size and pitch, packed the guts with Mobil 1 grease, test fired.

The man is, as the French say, a true "artiste." Hell of a nice guy, too.

Got the dragoon back from @Jackrabbit1957 !
It is in fine working order for the first time in 30+ years. Timed perfectly, super light trigger, everything feels proper and tight. Can’t wait to shoot it!
