Wanted to just say we have some of the best suppliers of reloading equipment in the world right here in the USA.

I sent a picture of my 10 year old Lee 500 SW resizing/decapping die that had just started marking the cases with a line, not quite a scratch but enough to concern me. I tried cleaning and no help. Within 2 hours they had already sent an answer that this is not normal and the carbide shouldn't be doing that. They replied they would be sending a replacement.

The next day I get another email with shipping status with tracking, Wow

You can't ask for better customer service than this, Thanks Lee Precision, I would bet they have reloaders that read THR regularly and I just wanted to say Thanks

Good CS and Lee doesn't belong in the same sentence. I just buy extra lee stuff as my warranty

Hell of a lot better luck with their customer service then I had with them.
I had an issue a couple of years ago with a die set. I sent them an email and all I recieved was their catalog in the mail, nothing else.

That is why I switched 95% of my stuff over to RCBS and Hornady and bought a Dillion 650.

they sent you a catalogue … lol!

I purchased lee auto bench prime, they knew they had problems with them since the design changed that was my last lee product never again, their dies are ok the perfect powder measure works great except leaks. Some things that they use plastic for make you wonder. I prefer rcbs

They told me tough on my 450 BM set then turned around and offered replacement sizing dies to people a month later. By then I already had a Hornady set and figured it wasn’t worth the hassle.

It cracks me up all these people bragging lee products up.
Lee stuff is the bottom of the barrel products in my personal opinion. And for me their customer service SUCKED.

For other people it is hit or miss on replacement parts or items.

I wouldn’t say that they are bottom of the barrel. Some of their products that I can’t live without.

I have contacted Lee CS several times over the course of 3 decades+ reloading. They have always treated me fairly.

I don't go in to the conversation expecting freebies. I just want to be treated fairly.

If there's a problem with the product being defective, I explain my position clearly and without throwing around deprecations. I have always gotten a satisfactory response.

If there was a problem with the performance of the product, I ask for technical support and discuss it with them. They have occasionally given me equipment operations enlightenment*, and sometimes a suggestion about modifications.

I have always been pleased with Lee products.

One must keep in mind that it is built for the masses, not for specialized operations. I have equipment and tooling from niche manufacturers for specialized processes.

* Equipment operations enlightenment: "Yo ! Dummy ! Yer holding it backwards !"
Or something like that.

NO ARRANGEMENTS, that their CS is BAD!!!

But the products are OK-ish but super cheap (was) 4-set die for $35! SOLD!

that how I feel! Don’t go into Lee Product thinking it as good as RCBS or Hornady but have the mind set that it works…. then NO Problem! Also, I have never called Lee but I’m expecting Billy Bob to answer and be like, “Lee Products… Nothing is free here you cheap bum, and how can I not help you”

There is always time for change. It does stink the CS appears to be from both extremes. Im with the OP, I struggled with the auto drum on my first and second attempt. Called Lee and they were very patient with my concerns. In the end it all worked out and running smooth.

My vote is on the happy with Lee side!

You are a one of a few who has been chosen by the stoke of luck on the low end of quality customer service and products.

Lee used to be much better. I’ve had good and bad experiences over the years from their customer service.
I recently bought 2 rifle die sets and one of them was rough and filthy. A return perhaps? I just gave it away.
I really like the Lee Ram Prime.
Their little $5 ID/OD debur tool is the most despised reloading tool I ever bought. I’d rather use sandpaper.
Lee is the lower end in reloading, but they have allowed a lot of people to try out the avocation cheaply over the decades. I think most everybody, if they stay with it, upgrade to some better equipment eventually.

Your Favorite Manufacturer Here

I have a lot of Lee Dies that are great. I continue to buy Lee Dies to this day.
I also bought some Big $$$$ Redding Dies for a project that left me less than impressed for the price point. This was a few years back.
Newer RCBS items have been hit & miss. My old as dirt RCBS equipment is awesome!!! I have used their customer service once and it was great.

Staffing changes with these places, just like any other place.
There are going to be good & bad employees and we are going to end up interacting with them or getting our hands on there items.
All we can do is reach out in a professional manner and let the companies know what we have experienced.

Wow, I didn't know Lee had a reputation for poor customer service. I've always had good experiences with them. Recently the plastic arm on my auto prime broke after about 10 years and who knows how many rounds. They sent out a new small primer mechanism free of charge, no questions asked. I've replaced the little plastic square sleeve that operates the auto index on my value turret press a couple of times now, no problem. They've always done right by me. Now, certainly there's an argument to be made that a higher end product wouldn't need to be repaired or replaced, but Lee is a low cost, high value product that does the job

I have had nothing but stellar service from Lee for 30+ years, I did admit breaking a few things being ham fisted back in the day and they replaced them no questions asked. I broke a part on a bullet mold on the third use and they replaced it no problem. The few times I have called they were polite, responsive, and took care of whatever I needed. Same with RCBS when I killed a bullet puller hammer thingy.
