Biggest Regrets. Stuff you wish you never sold

A series 70 Gold Cup and a Baby Browning Belgium made.

In my defense, I bought other guns with the proceeds, but I do miss the Gold Cup.

No regrets because I never sell guns. I think that’s a problem. I sold my 64 GTO for next to nothing back in the day. Now that I regret. Probably worth 100k today the way it sat and I sold it for $500. That was the market at the time. The brand new 72 Firebird I replaced it with was 3200 I believe.

Only one I ever sold that I miss was my first. An H&R topper 410. nothing fancy. I had bought it myself with my hay/ tobacco money, so no real sentimental value from that perspective. Doubled my money too, But it was still my first one. Sold it because I couldn't really afford to shoot 410. Lol. Bought a 12 guage and could shoot far cheaper.

I pretty much regret selling anything, but did so to buy guns I really wanted. The one I regret the most was a fine Remington 870 Wingmaster 30" full, I sold to buy a Beretta semi-auto. It turns out that I don't really like the Beretta much, even tough it will be OK for turkey hunting. But, I loved the 870, Big mistake!

Normally I'd say I have none.

The other day I was thinking about how I still wish I had my mini14.

I was able to replace someone of the guns I regretting selling, but there are others that I doubt I'll every get back.

My Ruger Old Vaquero Birdshead in 45 Colt was a great gun, but finding one would be tough.

Others are too expensive to try and replace, such as my Yugo SKS which doesn't make sense at these prices. I really loved my Single Six, but again they are so pricey now.

My 340PD was a great carry gun, but price wise they are insane now.

I still don't need them because I have other CZs that I prefer to shoot, but now that they're selling for about 3x what I paid for them 4 - 6 years ago, I wish I'd kept my CZ 527 Carbine and 452 Ultra Lux.

Winchester "94 in .44 Magnum, Ruger GP100 in .357 Magnum, Swedish Mauser in 6.5X55 and a Liberator with the dowel rod and instruction sheet still in the handle.

Had a nice, simple, stainless Ruger New Vaquero with 7.5 inch barrel in .45 Colt. Always loved Vaqueros, and that one was the closest to feeling like a real SAA. Was my favorite single action revolver I’ve ever owned.

Ruger stopped making them shortly after I sold it, so finding another one is scarcely possible. I wish I’d just held on to it. I don’t recall what was even motivating me to sell it.

I’ve since picked up a New model stainless Blackhawk with 7.5 inch barrel in .45 Colt. It scratches the itch, but really preferred the New Vaquero. I don’t need the beefy frame of the Blackhawk for the shooting I do.

Let me count the ways. No, on second thought, I won't; not enough beer on hand.

S&W Model 25-5 with 8-3/8” barrel. When new in 1985 it shot terribly with its .458” cylinder throats, but S&W installed a new cylinder with .452” throats and it then shot very well in IHMSA competition. But I wanted heavier loads and sold the Smith to fund a new Dan Wesson M45 - which shot better and loved 300 grain cast bullets at 1080 fps. Still have the Dan and love it, but wish I still had that M 25.
