Whatever happened to the new Bren ten.

100% agree, they are not leaving anything for the kids! I ran into a boomer that had wrist injury and bought a DW.45 and a Python, and told the shop owners, see you next week.

Was talking with him, he just buys what he wants!

And that boomer will buy a Bren Ten! For him its like a race to find self respect and admiration through having shiny things. Thats OK. Even though that is a large portion of the target market it gets more classics out there for the younger folks that are really getting into firearms design. CCW is just the gateway.

I should nention the last time I talked to a Bren Ten expert he gave me the whole story on the Bren Ten and they could not hold up to full house 10mm. Could that be remedied... maybe. I could accept shooting light loads and maybe useing the 45 conversion for normal shooting. Kind of like not killing your python with nuclear loads. Cooper did not originally desire the full power 10mm.... specs were closer to 40s&W from what I remember. I could be off. 10mm planet destroyer we all love was kind of an accident.

Can't understand why CZ doesn't jump on the band wagon, after all it was based on their design.
And CZ's design was based on a couple of others, the Browning Hi Power and Sig P210 being two of them.

Vltor had teething problems with quality control and apparently haven't fixed them yet; maybe they've shelved the project, they seem to do well enough on AR parts.

It might be nice to see another Bren Ten, but when they came about in the 1980's you didn't see the variations in 1911's you now see, so it doesn't establish a niche like it did back then; it was the first handgun chambered for 10mm. There weren't any 10mm 1911's offered yet; the Delta elite only came out in 1987 after the Bren Ten died, and S&W came out with their 1076; even Glock didn't have a 10mm until 1992. By then, 10mm was becoming passe, the .40S&W supplanted it, and now it's dying back and the 10mm is becoming popular again. A Bren Ten would be just one of many guns available in 10mm today, and not everybody likes 10mm. Personally, I love it, I have a 1911 chambered for it, and think that platform is a perfect match for it.

If the gun industry doesnt get it the casinos will. Most Boomers could care less about leaving something for the grand kids. The "I gots mine" gen has a lot of self centered mutts in it. Government checks alone are just silly. Thats why we are where we are.

"And all these millenials and Gen X-Z'ers are just bitter underachievers waiting for someone to hand them something...."

Isn't it fun to generalize and stereotype? You're pretty good at ageism; got an racism or sexism wisdom to share?

1st 10mms that could really handle nuclear loads were the glock, s&w 1006, and the Megastar. Only 1911 I have ever seen be able to handle that much was the Grizzly but those were built for monsters 44,45 mag and 50ae. As much as I like the 1911 I think it would do better with a different locking system for 10mm.. maybe rotary barrel like the Mexicano 1911 Obregon. Springfield had the Omega which had a more sig style system. Not sure how they did with 10mm durability wise. Not saying a typical 1911 cant work just that they eventually shoot themselves apart. I honestly dont think browning would have used the platform had he the 10mm at the time.

Its OK though. I think 460 rowland is awesome and JMB probably wouldnt have gone for that either. Unless he made it a Grizzly. Good thing about 10mm is you can choose softer loads for practice.

Yes 10mm was well on its way before 40s&w came along and screwed everything up. I like both cartridges so I am happy with where things are at right now. Springfield Better bring back the XD though or I am going to start a movement.

WTH does this have to do with the Bren Ten?

More members bashing the generation that came before them? Real productive discussion, guys. Good display of how some just don't know what they don't know.

We actually worked for our money and are providing for our descendants, thank you. (Even you entitled ones)

FWIW, one of our members here (Dragonfly? Can't recall, maybe him) has a Bren Ten and did a great review with plenty of pics. Perhaps he'll show up. I've shot one a bit, lots of fun (although we only had two mags for the session, so loads of reloading).

sure Larry... lots... everyone does. There are always exceptions out there. Hopefully you are one of them. Good people are rare these days. As its always been.... you keep the good ones close and stay away from the mutts. I even know a few women that are ....OK.

those two mags are probably worth more than the gun. I have seen .... one..... since the early 90s. Dont worry I bash the newer generations plenty.

You dont have to... find a good one thats a sheela and make your own good people. Gotta homeschool them though. Thats why good people exhist... to make more good people... then the cycle repeats itself and you live forever.

Kind of like a Glock 10mm... every gen gets a little better. Problem with Bren Ten is we never really got a 1st gen. Hopefully that will change.

How Bren Ten turns to the Cycle of Life and society! lol! love it

Its an important pistol in the evolution of firearms. It will be remembered and talked about long after we are all forgotten. The Bren Ten shall live forever.

Like sands through the hour glass......these are the days of our lives.

Somebody please make this gun again
