53, shooting (powder) since 7. First "personal" firearm was a Winchester 62a gallery pump .22 at age 13, then a Remington 870 12 gauge at 16. First personal handgun was a Ruger super single six (.22/.22 WMR) at age 18.

I am 39 and have been shooting since I was 4, when my Dad gave me my first .22lr rifle. It was a Stevens Single Shot. I still have it.

When I turned 6, he gave me a Ruger Single Six .22lr with a 4 5/8" bbl.

When I turned 10, I got a Smith & Wesson Model 10 4" pencil barreled revolver, a Marlin 336C lever action rifle, and a Ruger 10/22 .22lr rifle (It was a good year).

At 15 I talked him into a Browning Hi Power that was sitting on the USED shelf at Murphy's. I had been saving for a 1911!

Dad was one of the good guys.

I might mention I was raised in Arizona on a small horse ranch, and Pap (paternal grandfather) owned a Chevron Service Station, which paid for the ranch, as the ranch ALWAYS lost money! All my guns were kept in MY room, and I was trusted enough to have my own ammo there too. I made it all the way through school, and college, and to my present age, and never ONCE shot up a school.

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM....my guns must all be broken....they have never caused a crime.

Started shooting in Boy Scouts so its only been maybe 5 years (I'm 19 now). I've done loads of shotgun and rimfire, and a little handgun, centerfire, and automatics. I've got friends with cool toys :)
I'm also gonna take up hunting next season and see how I like it.

I just turned 20 a month and 2 days ago. Been shooting since I was 4, my first firearm was a .410 breakaction shotgun. Still have it in working order too, killed atleast 20 million squirrels with that thing =)

After that I graduated to a semi-auto 16 gauge, and a bolt action .270 with a 25$ scope I bought myself. Still have that scope on my only deer gun too. That came around age 6.

For my 8th birthday I used some of the money I got as gifts (80$) to give to my dad to buy a remington 870 from a DPS officer. That was my first self-purchased kind of firearm. I've got well over 4000rds through that shotgun since I got it. A couple of weeks later I did a repeat of what I did for the 870 and bought an m1 carbine for a little more than the 870. Only had a few hundred through that before it was MIA during an apartment fire never to be seen again =(

Then I bought an AK, m44, and my grandfather gave me an 11-48, and between all the firearms I own I've put over 25k rds through them, probably shot around 35krds overall.

Can't leave out my S&W model 36 though. My father carried it as his duty pistol for a good 30 years or so. The barrel is a smoothbore now and I took it over after he retired it in favor of a S&W 625, no idea how many times he shot it but I've shot the hell out of it.

Gotta love 25$ sportviews for lasting durability and the ability to partially maintain a zero after months of sitting absolutely still and never being touched except for occasional inspection for rust and whatnot.

tools for hunting group photo just for the hell of it.

I learned to shoot a single shot 22 when I was 8. I shot on and off with my dad through my adolescent years, got a shotgun at 18 and a handgun at 21. I've only seriously gotten into shooting during the last couple of years and I started reloading 18 months ago, very fun and enjoyable, saves a lot of money.:D I'm 30 now for reference.

I'm 56 going on 20 something. Guess the proper term for that is "rejuvenile". :D
I think I was 43 when I bought my first pistol. It is never too late to start anything! My gun interest was put on the back burner for about 10 years for personal reasons, but I am renewing my enthusiasm for it real fast. I'm a rather rotten shooter so I look forward to going to the range and trying to improve. I Plan to take some lessons. It gets me outdoors and it is a great time as well as a challenge! My wife even went with me today! :D

I'm 16, I'v been shooting for about 3 years now. Started shooting IPSC with a springfield trophymatch 1911. Won gold and silver at the sunshine state games. Ranked first B production nationally, ranked 2nd C limited (junior division).

67.... shooting from age 5...owned my own 22 at 9. Paid for my ammo and guns with a trap line.

Still at it. Shooting more now than ever since the gubbermint is paying for my vices.:p
Keep paying your taxes young'uns.

Cheers

I'm 21, been shooting since I was 16.

I shot F-class rifle (only two matches so far), IPSC, IDPA, and 3-gun. I practice weekly:)

I'm 38 and have been shooting since I was about 6 or 7 when my dad let me shoot his Winchester 69A. My Grandfather was into guns when my dad was a kid but by the time he was old enough for me to get to know him his interest had dwindled. I think it was mainly due to my Grandmother.

When I was 9 my Dad decided to sell most of the guns including quite a few from the Civil War era. I asked about the 69A and he said that I could keep it and I still have it.

I now own quite a few guns and reloading equiment and try to get out shooting at least once a month. Some of my favorites are pin shooting, varmint hunting, and trap.

I'm 46, I got a Daisy Red Ryder for Christmas at 8 years old and been shooting ever since. They say I'm a "Natural" I say, I've been doing it so long it just comes naturally. I shoot well over 6 hours a week, if I can't get to the range, I shoot pellet guns in my basement.

I'm 37. I started shooting .357's when I was 7, got my first .45 when I was 9 moved up to .44 mag about 1980 and started reloading when I was 11 or 12. Rifle wise I shoot .22's up to 7mm mag. I live about a mile from the range so I shoot 4-5 times a week.

I'm 16, 8 months of gun experince and I managed to get my dad on board with guns. (Former Taiwanese military officer, now hes hooked on guns like I am) To make up for the lost time (seeing as how kids these days are lucky enough to be raised on guns), I've hit the range just about every week since last August. First rifle which I got in July is a '54 Tula Russian SKS, a couple of months later, M9 Beretta, month after that, Kel Tec SU-16CA, two months after that, Springfield Armory 1911 Mil-spec, .22 conversions for both handguns, last week my dad just finished waiting on a Sig P220ST from a PPT, and now we're waiting on a store to get P220 SAO. I may have the "least" experince with guns but I can confidently say that I can actually do 2 MOA groupings in the black with a SKS, peg holes through the bullseye with a Sig, and right now I'm in the process of building an AR-15. I also have in this short time learned inside and out of both Federal and California gun law. (They should give me academic credit for the later)

I might be green in years, but I can still stand up with the older crew.

Age 53. Been shooting since about age 13. First rifle was a Marlin single shot .22
Last rifle is a Weatherby 30-378. First pistol was a Jennings .22 about 25 years ago. Last pistol is a EAA Witness 10 mm. I grew up with a good father that took the time to teach me how to shoot and safety along with the responsibilities that go with it. I took the same opportunity to teach my 2 boys and my daughter to shoot. I'd like to think that I passed to the next generation the healthy respect for shooting sports and to not fear what they represent.

shot a gun when little, but got serious just recently

I first shot a .22 LR when I was 6- I am now 23.
However, i did not get seriously into shooting until I went to college, and now, especially, law school. I try to shoot 4 rounds of skeet every other weekend, and the weekends I don't shoot skeet, I try to go pistol shooting. Although my abilities are modest, I was able to keep everything within the 9 Ring on the DPS silouette targets when I went for my CHL training. I came down to Texas with no pistols, just a 10/22 and a autoloading shotgun, and now I have four- I also just got a lifetime membership in the NRA, and got into reloading- I just loaded my first 50 rounds tonight! I guess I am a "gunny" compared to most of my friends back home in Chicago, however, I really have some catching up to do to these Texans.

51. I must have been about 10 or 11 when my dad took me to a range. When he retired, we moved to a farm and I got my own guns. After that the Marine Corps made sure I did a little bit of shooting: 7.62, 5.56, .45, 9mm, 20mm and 2.75" FFAR. Most of my shooting has been pretty sporatic, but I've always enjoyed it. Now that I seemingly have more time; I'm getting back into it. Hopefully for the rest of my life.

I'm 61. I started shooting about age 12 with a Hunter Safety course, did occasional shooting until early 20s, had a 30 year hiatus and then bought a revolver at age 52 and got serious about the sport.

just started today got a 788 from my dad after buying a ar-15 from someone and it turned out to be stolen had to turn it over to the police the next day o well seemed like to good of a deal anyway. the 788 on the otherhand is alot of fun looking forward to shooting for years to come

I'm 25 and I've been shooting since I was 5 or so. Mostly civilian plinking. Sometimes other stuff. Shooting with my father is one of the things I look forward to most when I'm in the States on leave.
