Which Polymer Handgun?????

I love my M&P but I have preached that on far too many threads. That Px-4 looks pretty sweet would love to shoot one. Most all of these threads end up with the group saying, "Try a bunch and buy what you like the most" so I wont preach too much here. Plus its late.

I own 2-XD's, a blued and a bi-tone. I prefer the bi-tone's looks and prefer the XD over ANY other poly gun's looks. It's all personal preference. Is this gun for carry? If so, look at the Kahr PM series (9, 40, 45), or even a KelTec!

I own a XD45Tac and a Taurus PT145Pro. Both have been 100% since round #1, and I would trust them for any job at hand. Try as many different makes as you can find. Only your opinion matters, most all polymer guns out there will give you good service.

how could you forget about H&K's, I'm left handed and there are only a hand full maybe of guns that are ambitious, that is when i bought my first H&K didn't want to spend the couple hundred more but sure am glad i did, it actually ending up saving me money in the long run.:)

I bought the XD thinking I would love it and the jury is still out. I had a M&P for a brief time, but I ended up selling it in a complicated trade.

I'm going to buy another M&P Soon. Very nice weapon. They are tack driver and are head and shoulders above the Glock.

FNP 9, 40 or 45.

SA/DA (not striker fired), can get with manual safety, decock or SAO. I like it as well or better than the higher priced USP.

Shot this one and it's love at first fire...

99 (and not to offend anyone)

I have a budding relationship with a S&W 99 and it may wind up a long term love affair. From motel to the homestead? Time will tell. However, to continue the analogy, I've had more than a roll in the hay with an Sigma 9 - the current version - and after a tiny amount of TLC and Wolff springs, I like it. It's not a tack driver, but it gets the job done for me better than some other guns around. The price is a home run until the end of January. With the rebates and all the magazines offered, it's almost a 2fer.

Is there any polymer pistol that has surpassed the Glock?
No?... I didn't think so. Its frustrating to know that the quest for the grail has ended with the discovery of the Glock.
But, this is the truth we must know.

I hate to rain on your parade, W.E.G., but the facts that M&P sales have not tapered off since their introduction, and that many LEO agencies are switching from Glocks to the M&P, not to mention the competition circuit adoption..... shows that the Glock is losing favor in all arenas, mainly because they fail to adopt changes to what people really want. Great feel, reliability, accuracy, warranty, and looks.

There have been numerous advancements made in designs, and maybe Glock got a working set-up first, 30 years ago. Big deal. Other have come along, made their contributions, and because of it, it is no longer only Wheel-guns, Glock, and 1911's to choose from. Anyone can go into a decently stocked gun-store and come out with a gun that fits their hands perfectly, appeals to their visual asthetics, is reliable, is accurate, and doesn't break the bank. THAT is the so-called Holy Grail of firearms, my friend. The gun that fits the buyer's desires. Stop insisting the only gun that is worth buying is Glock, because it simply ain't so. :p

OP, buy what you want. I recommend the M&P, but I know the XD is a nice piece also. Regardless of what you get, I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

I've never heard anyone say they liked the looks of the XD over the M&P.

Boy I sure do, not that I think that the XD is going to win any beauty contests, but the M&P is just so very homely. Lately I've been wondering why most poly guns are ugly. The only one that seems to combine form and function well is the PX4.

IMO form and function are not mutually exclusive. Since polymer is, well, plastic in every sense of the word, I'd expect to see some really fantastic design work by manufacturers by now. If we are seeing and appreciating high-design, high concept plastic spatulas I think we can raise the bar a little on firearm design.

i've got a subcompact XD 9mm....it's my carry gun and i love the thing.

Had a tough time deciding between the XD and M&P....glad i chose the XD

CZ

See no one has mentioned the cz rani p in 9mm, got one and not one hickup, well balanced, fits the hand perfectly with an extention so u can carry 14+1, no recoil to speak of and accurate, whats not to like and can be had for $375-485.00 depending on locations!

in 9mm :HK P2000 or P30. Fire one and you will agree.
in .45: The HK45 has only been out a few weeks and many say it's an amazingly comfortable .45 to shoot (and always reliable). I am waiting for the HK45compact. It will be out probably sometime early spring. Go to HKPRO.com and read about them. Also go to http://www.hk-usa.com/

I'm going to be the one wiseacre who provides the answer that has nothing to do with the question:)

If I had to choose a polymer framed pistol I would choose the one made without the plastic:neener:

I won't reveal my choices, but it boils down to about 4 options and glock ain't one of 'em:D

:fire::evil::rolleyes::cuss::scrutiny::(:what::eek::uhoh:

neener, neener, neener!

ps. I couldn't help myself!:p

Being particularly fond of XD's I wouldn't get any of them. I started out with the GAP and now I have 5.
.45 GAP tactical
.9mm service
.9mm sub
.40 SW service
.40 sub
The only reason I don't have the .45 is I just don't want to get into buying more holsters. The one I have goes with everything I list above.

Santa brought me the bi-tone XD40 service model & I like it:). Fits my hand perfect. Recoil not bad at all. My only complaint - too big/heavy for CCW. Previous reply said SC mags are interchangable. Guess I'll have to consider getting a SC for CCW.

I prefer the Walther P99.
I have also been happy with my Steyr M9-A1.
I am impressed with my trigger and finish of my FNP-9, but I haven't shot it yet.
