if you were only allowed 1 rifle and 1 pistol what would they be?

I would have to choose whatever you guys all choose for ammo compatibility. That might come in handy when we all go to fix the problem of only being able to own two guns.

hmm....
Springfield M1A
Colt model 1911

didn't mention shotgun, but if i were to only have one of those to compliment the others....
Remington 870

If things had gotten that bad, concealability would probably be important for the handgun whereas effective range would be important for the rifle. I'd want a snubnose revolver and a rifle suitable for sniping. One for one kind of criminal, the other for another.

is that cheating?

Since this is just fiction . . . Sig Sauer P229 and 556. I don't own any of these evil black guns or big magazines. . . I don't own any guns at all, that's it. I sold them all . . . Yeah, that's it. . . No guns round here. . .

I think something in the M-14 platform for the rifle, and something in the 1911 platform for the pistol.

With those in hand, and enough like-minded folks, and we'll go take care of this "allowed" thing that has somehow come to pass.

Great minds think alike.

Ready on the right:

If I was limited to just 2 of the ones I currently have, it would have to be my stainless CZ75b 9mm and my M1 carbine.

I'd choose the CZ because I know I can hit with it and have taken several training courses with it. It fits, it hits, so if I'm to be reduced to a one-and-only it gets the nod. Also it has had a very sweet action job and I just don't have a sweeter pistol in my fun-box.

It was a tough call between the carbine and the Garand, but the carbine is what I currently have the most ammo for, as well as being set up to reload. Also I forsee most of the shooting I would NEED to do as being at suburban neighborhood distances. Hopefully within the next year or so that choice will have changed to an x39-upper AR (featureless build), because I'm sitting on 5k of x39 I got back when it was $99 per k, intended to feed the stable of Yugo SKS's we have. Already got the ten 10 round mags for it (yeah CA restrictions suck). Also hope to have a 5.56 upper for the same lower if that's not cheating (probably is though...). Either of these would upgrade from the carbine for penetration purposes.

The first of whatever i thought I needed and acquired through alternative marketing channels.

If I were only allowed 1 rifle and 1 pistol, it would be my enemy's... if the same applied to them that is....

Yugoslavian AK-47 underfolder and XD handgun in .40 or .45

The wheelguns, lever actions and shotguns would be hidden well over 60+acres of land and would be promptly uncovered during the ensuing revolution in retaliation to such a dumb law.

Rifle: AR 15 with 6.5mm Grendel, 6.8mm SPC, .223 & .22lr uppers.

Excuse my ignorance, as I'm not an AR person yet; but are uppers considered a gun under current law and a number of uppers would be considered a number of guns?
