If you could only have two guns....

Seeing as how you never mentioned If Current Restrictions Would come into the Equation or not, So I am going to Assume Not. :D

Here are 2 Possible Choices I would make if Only allowed any 2 Guns.
Both Based Primarily on Repairabillity, Reliability, Ammo Availability & Versatility.

Choice 1:
HK MK23 (With Suppressor)
HK M4 Variant in either 6.8SPC or 308 with AG36 (With Threaded Barrel, Suppressor & 35rd Mags)

Choice 2:
Kimber Ten-II (With Threaded Barrel, Suppressor & Hi-Cap Mags)
M4 in either 6.8SPC or 308 with M208 mod (With Threaded Barrel, Suppressor & 35rd Mags)

Colt's SAA New Frontier 2nd Generation .357 and my old Rem 700BDL 30-06

My Savage 111FXP3(I really love this darn thing) its light, accurate enough for me and it eats whatever .223 I feed it.....and for the second...

A simple, no frills M1911 with the real nasty grips that eat your palms? Simple, powerful, utterly reliable and a great bit've pyscholgical comfort for me atleast.

Hmmm...decisions!

Well, I guess it would come down to this, since it's between my girlfriend and I. This would make 4 guns total.

-Good quality .45 ACP 1911 (I'm thinking the new Para-Ord PXT or a Kimber) as my larger carry pistol

-Bersa .380 Thunder (for a easier-to-conceal CCW or back-up gun)

-EAA Windicator .38 Spl. 2" bbl. revolver. This is the CCW I already own, and sentimental since I taught my girlfriend how to shoot on this gun. I think she'd prefer this one to carry due to the revolver's simplicity of operation (and the fact the first time she shot it at 7 yds she put it right in the 10-ring :uhoh: )

-For a long gun for home defense/hunting, a quality 12-ga. shotgun (Remington 870 comes to mind)

Just my opinion at this moment, subject to change at any time. If I could realistically afford ALL the guns I'd want to own, I need a separate room (something like a BANK SAFE :D ) to keep them all in, along with a good sized closet to store all the ammo. :what:

If you could only have two guns...

#1 - Winchester 1300 or equivalent... Mossburg would work as well. Any 12 ga. "riot" gun. This would be used to "defend the homefolks first". I might have to call the Electrician, the Plumber and the Sheetrock repair folks... but me and mine would remain safe.

#2 - 686 K frame S & W .357 revolver with 6" barrell. After shooting many different handguns, my vote for best "all-around", "versitle" personal defense carry weapon.

Looking forward to read more responses.

If it were two guns that I already owned, it would have to be my Sig P228 and my Beretta 686e Sporting 12 ga O/U shotgun.

If new laws force me to only have two firearms, but still allow handguns, make mine mouseguns because they are the most discreet, hence the most useful for family defence.

Most of us work, and thus live, in cities nowadays, where one cannot boogaloo down broadway with a shoulder arm. And even a standard-sized handgun is onerous to lug around and try to keep well-concealed all day every day, especially when it's hot and humid.

Let's say a North American Arms Guardian 32 and
a NAA Guardian 25NAA (same size but chambered for the high-velocity bottle-neck cartridge).

Were I "forced" into this sort of predicament I suppose I would keep my AR15 and Glock 17 for the various reasons already mentioned. .22LR conversions are available for both in addition to the multiple caliber choice uppers available for the AR not to mention the huge parts availability for both. Great flexability offered by both platforms for my personal needs and desires.

I would greatly miss all my other fun guns though.:(

Agreed, AR, 1911, but I'd get the alloy

frame, compact version, so that ccw under a T shirt was a viable option. It can always "wear" a longer slide, comped barrel, weighted stocks, grip extender, etc, for match shooting, hunting, and so on.

I tend to agree on the 2 pistols, rather than one rifle thing, but no blowback auto offers serious power. The Kahr PM9 9mm is but 15 ozs and 6" long, so it's a lot more "pocketable" than is a .38 snub. The other pistol would either be a belt gun or a used, steel framed version of the Kahr, so that I could practice a lot, without having lots of wear or fouling on the ccw pistol.
