Ruger LCP recall

I have heard that

the Kel-Tec and the LCP are the same design before. Is that really true? Are the parts interchangeable? I have an LCP and while I am having some feeding problems, I really like the thing. I was going to put another 300 rounds through it tomorrow but, with the storm coming, I doubt that will happen. I now believe that the feed problems have more do with the mag than anything else. It seems to have about 1/16th inch oplay when inserted. If I hold up on the mag when firing there are no problems at all. I will be getting 2 new mags this week.

Elsie came back home to me day before yesterday. Was gone 10 days. The trigger feels much better. It has the new slide catch. The false trigger reset is gone, if you release the trigger to the first click it can't be pulled. Has to be released all the way forward like a revo. The letter that came with her said "When we recieved your LCP pistol back for the free safety upgrade, we not only installed a new hammer mechanism, but also incorporated other available changes to further improve your LCP. It is likely the only one you will be able to see is the new manual slide hold-open (assuming you did not have it already), but other, more subtle improvements have been incorporated too, and these should make your LCP even more rugged and reliable in the best Ruger tradition". When it warms up outside I'll try it out, No hurry, my P3AT is in my pocket now.
PS. The mag and cap are nice too.

Mine got picked up by UPS on Friday, so now I can only play the "waiting game".

I'm filling in the recall form on Ruger's website. It's asking for a "ship to" address. Can Ruger ship this directly to me, or do I have to have them ship it to someone who holds a FFL?

I'm assuming since you already own the gun, and it's going back to the factory for repairs (or more accurately, warranty), no FFL is required.
AFAIK everyone's using their own address-I saw no mention made anywhere of a FFL. When you get the shipping packet, they'll ask you to MAKE SURE you don't make any mention of it being a firearm-I assume for theft purposes.

Any address is fine... as long as you're there to give it to the UPS driver.

This is the first gun I've ever returned for repairs.

Took exactly 1 week to the day to get mine back. Can't see that anything was done to it. But I did get a hat and an extra Mag.

Got a nice hat and extended magazine.
My first Ruger-hope my second? one is "defective" also!
