needs more ammo
The appeal of the RM 380 to me is that it is so similar to the Rohrbaugh R9, the downside is that I can get something like a TCP for a lot less and almost every other .380 ACP pocket pistol out there has better sights than the RM380...
Decisions decisions...
I have a RM380 and a TCP.
Unless Taurus has finally fixed the false trigger reset which can cause releasing the hammer from pre-cock, I'd pass on the TCP. The KelTec P3AT the TCP is based on had this problem fixed for good by KelTec around their second generation or so. The TCP by generation 4 (D models), still hadn't corrected it with the improved sear/hammer block as used by KelTec and even Ruger (from the get go by Ruger, btw). ***
Now, coincidentally I went to the range yesterday and fired my RM380, Glock 36, and had opportunity with my friend's older Ruger LCPs.
If you're the type of shooter that prefers better triggers, you will want the LCP. Especially these new ones with even easier to pull triggers. I like the RM380 in every respect better than the older LCP except the LCP has a sweeter trigger without a doubt.
On the other hand, if you are used to and like shooting double action revolvers, you will probably like the RM380 trigger just fine. Part of the reason the RM380's trigger is the way it is, is due to it cocking the hammer completely with each trigger pull. Which is why it is a double strike capable pistol.
*** Note: I fixed my TCP years ago by using a Ruger sear/hammer block and modding the hammer. From what I've read, others have done the same thing using a KelTec sear/hammer block with no mods needed for the hammer.
