Best Non-Firearm Weapon in Your Pocket?

It would have to be my wallet or cellphone since that's all I usually have in my pockets. Seriously though, if a bg is close enough that I can't run away we are probably about to find out how good my street jitsu is.

Prolly a good Jack or Sap if you know how to use it, are explosive and sneaky. If facing an armed opponent it is a heck of a lot quicker and cleaner than a pocket blade. That is why they are usually illegal !

Benchmade 710. Quick to open, on my non-gun side. I'm not a knife-fu guy, so it's all "stabby, stabby" with it.

I don't carry a box cutter, jack, or sap in my pockets, nor do most folks. And my pocket knife is too small and slow to be considered a weapon. I do often carry a small flashlight which would work as well as a roll of nickles or quarters, and I usually wear a 1.5" belt with a substantial buckle which makes a fair weapon, and being old I sometimes have a cane, but that doesn't fit in a pocket very well.

All of this is moot, of course, because I will have a proper equalizer. Besides, as is often said, the weapon is between the ears; anything else is just a tool.

Wanna detail that question a little more?

Best possible?

Best right now?

Best you've ever carried?

Best two out of three?

I like kubotans. My plastic one is arguably a key chain fob, and a great non-lethal defense weapon in the right hands. My S&W tacticool pen is a step up from that, a defensive weapon that would cause you do need to do some serious 'splainin', and probably pay bigger legal fees than you would have imagined proving your justification for using it. But better poor than dead in the right circumstances, I guess. And it's still just a pen as far as I know, not a felony to carry.

I know if I had to I could induce some serious pain into someone with just my keys. I dont have a big ball of them either or a dejammer but if I put my index finger into the key ring I can turn my (longer than average) house key into a very focused impact weapon.

CRKT M21

MINI-MAGLIGHT LED

I have one of the original Leatherman Supertools on my belt. I can't open the blades quickly, but it feels like it would be a good fistload, I imagine pliers to the face would not be fun.

A 2-cell flashlight can be carried everywhere and is useful in any case.

Don't care for knives for defense, not trained in their use and don't plan to be. I'm old and feeble and not a ninja in any form, Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, or otherwise. I still pack a decent right cross, but I'm no longer anywhere near fast. Anyway, if it went that far, it went too far. I carry a back up mini revolver (instead of a pocket knife, about the same size) and a can of pepper spray to give me a non-lethal alternative for animals, unarmed drunks that think they're Mohamed Ali, etc. Everyone should have a non-lethal alternative IMHO be it pepper spray or stun gun or such.

Probably my change holder. With about 15 bucks in quarters in there it is an impressive impact tool and doesn't raise any eyebrows...

Got to be effective. Don't think it would match my wardrobe, though. But you carry it well!

Does a nasty disposition count ?

How about a nice disposition?

Conflict: It doesn't have to happen.

As a general rule, I believe in treating people as well as I can. I have a very active sense of humor, and I enjoy making people laugh. I am pretty easy to get along with, and my job is such that I work regularly with everyone from elderly ladies to hardcore gang-bangers (emphasis on gang bangers). In fact, normally I am pretty non-aggressive. I don't particularly enjoy conflict, and so I try to stay away from it.

On the other hand, I can very easily become the nastiest, meanest, most unlikable character you could imagine. Just a horrible, ultra-confrontational, jerk of a human being. It happens rarely and though when it does I flip to that personality on purpose, it isn't an act. I am pretty laid back, but I am not about to get walked over or victimized. I mean, I was a pretty good Marine once, and we aren't knowen for our delicacy and sense of decorum.

Frankly, both have their places. In my own life history, I have been able to talk my way out of far more sticky situations than I have fighting my way out of them. But, when it is time to get serious, it is time to get serious. I would totally rather not fight, but if I can't talk my way out of it, then I will try and talk my way in to it.

Joe Pesci with a pen, that's what I carry!

ide imagine that would be kind of heavy and bulky to carry......

.....especially now since joe pesci is older and chubbier.......:neener:
