Is the Kimber a stainless model with Bomar's, or a target model? I looked it up,, it's the target model after all, very nice.

No pics but:

Glock 20; Glock 29; Smith & Wesson 1006; Smith & Wesson 1076; Fusion 'Traditional Hunter' longslide.

Kimber Stainless Target II 10mm here. I reload them so I usually don't shoot them full strength, in fact I've never shot any of the "hot" ammo but I may try it.

What is the primary purpose, all around use, competition or hunting?

tingnat,

What's the deal with the decocker(?) on the 1076? And the lack of same/safety on the slide? Aftermarket?

Mine's a Smith & Wesson 1006, the progenitor of the 1076. I'm posting a 'net pic as I don't have access to mine at work.

I've had mine since (IIRC) 1994, and absolutely would not part ways with it. Period. It's a big, heavy gun with very good-to-excellent accuracy, good recoil manners considering the cartridge it's firing, and is just a damn fine looking weapon IMO. I've put many rounds downrange with it and the bore still looks pristine, contrary to a lot of the "barrel burner" comments I heard when I first bought it. I've tried various aftermarket grips/backstraps on it and I've kept coming back to the original. It just fits.

The US govt wanted a frame-mounted de-cocker instead of S&W's normal slide-mount on the 1006/1066, so viola you have the 1026/1076.

osteodoc08:

The grips are smooth but hold in my hand very well without any slipping or sliding what-so-ever. Definitely not soft and I can't really describe if they're warm or soft, I've never really thought about it. Room temperature? Personally I'd take this over any other 1911 I've seen so far, including one of my club members Les Baer's.

Glock 20

I also have a G29 SF but no pics yet. It looks just like the 20 only smaller, not much difference looks wise between Glocks.
