"buy guns"
Your mindset is similar to the mindset of the people that knew me. They all said or thought to themselves "Well.....you shouldn't have carried a knife, look at all the trouble that brought upon you!" or "I would never put myself in that situation!". That one befuddles me the most...
Shockwave:
Not as well as I had thought. Not being eligible for a CHL and already a big THR reader I had always been concerned with personal safety. I carried a normal CRKT folder everyday . I used it maybe 10-15 times a day during work. The week before I had practiced quick drawing it from my...
I called an emergency therapy hot line our university had set up when things got really bad. They did help. They didn't do much but listen. I couldn't say much, but it was someone to talk to.
The worse part is that...if I had to talk to anyone I ever knew, I would have to explain myself to...
The beginning of my sophomore year in college I was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second degree felony which carried a maximum punishment of 20 years in prison.
It was a clear case of self-defense, I used a knife, it was at fast food restaurant, there were multiple...
So the consensus is that without spending a buttloads of money on a bull barrel etc etc, this is the max of what the rifle should be doing and my shooting skills are not skewing results?
I went on my first two hunts this year, but I am unsure how often I will go in the future.
I dont think i...
Got a great deal on my first bolt action earlier in the month. Came with a laminate thumb hole free float stock and a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14. I have no previous experience shooting scoped rifles from a bench. 22in 1/9.25 twist I believe. Using a bipod and rear sandbag
First trip, my buddy...

No picture, but I shot a 1.5 inch group of 5. Three of them low left in a 1.25 group and the last two were both bulleyes hits one on top of each other!
This is my second time firing this rifle and fourth time ever shooting a rifle, so I am pretty happy!
Ammo was the cheapy $14.99 100gr...
My local walmart had nothing. Called one a few miles north and they only had something for $17.xx and hung up on me before i could ask what brand they were.
I don't see anything wrong with the trigger as is. Again, I am not super experienced, but I just dry fired a few times and the trigger...
I'm not sure about "which BDC" I have, I assumed they were all the same... hmm.
Like I said, we took all of 20 rounds to dial it in. On the last round and final adjustments, I hit a half a cm off my point of aim. Hoping to get the range early next week to get a group.
My first bolt action! I am a complete rifle newbie and picked this up to hog hunt and to accompany my buddy to the rifle range.
This is what I have gathered about the rifle:
- .243 is a good dual purpose varmint/large game
- With a 1:9.25 twist, I should shoot 100gr out of it
The Nikon...
Long story short, I have always thought of the HK P7 series of guns some of the best. It's on my "holy grail" list, but I've never shot one!
Before I collect my pennies and sell off a whole bunch of things for one, I'd like to try it out. If anyone is in the Austin area and is kind enough to...
