My girlfriend keeps surprising me. When we first met, I thought she was just completely stuck on herself because of her apparent habit of ignoring me and the fact that she is ridiculously gorgeous. Turns out that she is just very, very shy.
Well, a few months back I decided to take her shooting. After a brief safety training session and some tailgate drawings on an ammo box explaining sight pictures, she fired her first rifle. She proceeded to prove to be deadly accurate with a marlin 60 using iron sights out past 40-50 yards. She gets a real quick out of beating me when we shoot the race trees. I admit to letting her win a couple at first, but combine confidence with accuracy and she proceeded to open a can of butt whippin on me. By the end of the day, she was out shooting me on my own AR that I had just built and taken out to fire for the first time.
Now she wants her own ar and “any of those 22’s with those thumb-hole stocks we looked it.”
Luckily, she is still getting better and handguns. For the time being, I can still out-shoot her with something. Doesn't bother me that she out-shoots me, I'm just glad she gets involved and is a firm 2a supporter. My last girlfriend was a bit of an anti which made life complicated for this ccw'er.
