Does anyone have any idea about the specific powder that Federal uses for its P256 Federal "Wing-Shok® Magnum" shotshell ammunition?
The specific Load is a 20 ga, 2-3/4" 1-1/8 oz. of #4 Lead Shot
What powder does Federal use in this shell?
Where can I find...
20 Gauge Fiocchi Hulls not ejecting:
These were 2 3/4" new Fiocchi's with the 616 primer from Ballistic Products Inc. I loaded them with an DGS-20 slug, also from BPI.
After firing, the spent hulls only wanted to eject after repeated attempts and poking and prodding. I have...
It occurred to me, that "Shotgun News" has very little on shotguns.
There are popular magazines on Hunting big game, and mags on handguns, combat weapons, and so forth; but there are no magazines on shotguns on the shelf. At least, I haven't seen them.
So I'm wondering...

This may seem odd; but what did people lubricate their firearms with, say, in 1844?
When I think of a cowboy on the open range, sometimes in the rain and snow with his weapon, and leather holsters and scabbards, I wonder how much care had to be given these weapons?
What...
The Winchester 1300 shotgun: (aluminum receiver)
Don't see much about this shotgun. It seems to be eclipsed by the Remington 870 and the Mossberg 500.
It is referred to as the "Speed Pump". [" The Winchester 1300 shotguns are also known as the 'Speed pump', because of the...
When we got the new S & @ .22 LR revolver, Model 617
The star ejector rod had come loose, and we had trouble closing the cylinder.
Now the Missus says that the Star Ejector moves smoothly in some positions, and encounters friction in others, when rotating the cylinder and...

Reloading Winchester 2 3/4" 12 guage hulls, makes me wonder how many types or varities of hulls out there are there in this size and guage. There's AA right? How many others...or is it none in this size?

Question about wadding...
Anyone familiar with hunting potential within a few hours of Billings, Montana for a Non-Res 1 day license or similar.
Small Game would be really nice, and Deer and Antelope are desired also. Anyone familiar with the area?
thanks:)
I am looking for data on a standard range of chamber pressures for 12 guage pump shotguns.
What's the safe range for say, Mossberg 500 & Remington 870 and similar.
Also, are the firearms designed with anything like
1/5th of their breaking strength as the standard, such as...
Should all 12 guage hulls for reloading, be separated according to their manufacture and brand?
I've lots of 2 3/4" from about 5 different brands. I want to reload them with #6 shot for hunting. Does it really matter what brands I use?

Do you suppose that a woman would be comfortable firing a G2 contender, in say....6.8 mm for Deer and Elk Hunting?
This is the Thompson / Center model G2.
We're just doing general research at the moment, but we are examining the factor of recoil with the Mrs. and her...
Is the Ventilation Rib just a sighting platform, and lacking in other purpose?
By the way, web searches produce no info on the invention, purpose, and so forth./

Forgive my ignorance, but in the field of pump shotguns, how distinctly different are the actions?
I know that the Rem 870 has a single bar inside (whatever you call the part....sheesh) and Mossberg has a double bar.
What's inside the Benelli's and others? Are any of...

When you fire a rifle, do you blink?
Does everybody blink?
Does anybody manage to keep their eyes open?
Should I not blink?:what::what::what::uhoh::uhoh::uhoh:

Someone suggested Grouse hunting in the mountains; but do you think I would be dumb enough to go after seeing this? No way!

I don't quite care for the smoothness of the wooden FOREARM on the Mossberg 500.
I'm thinking of something like drilling a couple holes on each side, and inserting a couple little stubby pieces of dowel rod, so that my finger grips the protrusion so I can more positively grip the "pump"...

The Scope cover is clear, so that the scope can be used with the cover left on. It adds a yellow tint though, as though looking through sunglasses.
Is their any reason that I should not hunt with the cover left on to protect the lense...
