I picked up a cheap Fobus holster for my stainless 1911 to use until my K&D Eagle Defender shows up. Will this fobus mar up my stainless 1911. I know steel is a helluva lot harder than plastic but it just seems like it could mar it up.

After Boston's bloodiest year in a decade, one city councilor has called on one of the largest manufacturers of guns in the country to install satellite-tracking technology in its...

What caliber(s) revolvers did they carry?
When did LEO switch from revolvers to semi-automatics?
Why did they switch from revolvers to semi-automatics?
Did they originally go with 9mm when they switched to Semi-automatics?
Did they use 10mm?
If so, why now...
Is what my buddy is telling me true? Are NH residents allowed to own full-auto weapons with no special license? I find it hard to believe but what do I know. Everything I've found on the web leads me to understand that they follow federal law regarding full-auto which I understand it means you...
OK, I read Lee "Modern Reloading Second Edition" Book by Richard Lee twice and it left me with a LOT of questions. What book should I read next? I'm still very much a cautious beginner and I need to know more.

I was wondering. When loading 148 grain wadcutters in .38 special is there any harm in not seating the bullet so deeply? (Flush or almost flush.)

...my yard go off. I grabbed my 12 gauge and ran downstairs to see what was going on. I stood on my back porch Remington in hand and yelled,"Who the f*** is out here?"
I started to come off the steps to do a walk around of my house to make sure there were no signs of someone breaking in.(My...
I'm selling something on www.gunsamerica.com for the first time. I just put the gun up for sale Sunday (last night) and already received what I believe to be a suspicious email. If you folks a agree that it is suspicious (which I suspect you willl) what do I do? I'm assuming I just ignore it...
One of the old coots at the range showed me this trick a while back so I figured I'd share it. It's for when you are trying to figure out what a new shooter is doing wrong when they pull the trigger. It also makes it easy to show the shooter what they are doing wrong. Probably an old trick and...
OK,I apologize if there is an obvious answer that I am not seeing. M1903 rifles were produced from 1903 to 1945 as far as I know. The 30-06 round came to be in 1906. What were M1903 rifles chambered in from 1903-1905?

My Dad bought a Garand. A pretty nice one. He took it down cleaned it and said the barrel looked good. I warned him about corrosive ammo. Over and over I warned him about corrosive ammo. Over and over. I told him how to clean up after using corrosive ammo. I shoot a ton of corrosive ammo. He'd...
2 different loads that shoot very accuratlely and feel normal if not a little light are leaving un-burned powder in the brass, in the cylinder, and on the bench in front of me. The first load is 3.3 grains of Herco in .38 special with a 148 grain wadcutter. The other load that is doing it is...
Let me start by saying this is NOT my pistol. A friend of mine has had it stowed away in his closet and has never cleaned it or performed any kind of maintainance on the pistol. Recently (because of me) he has become interested in firearms again (he stil has his LTC) and wants to come shooting...
The powder ammounts that I dispense with my Lee powder measure always seem to weigh about a grain short of what they should. Would I be better by calibrating my powder by dispensing a measure and then weigh it on a scale to calculate the VMD as opposed to relying on the VMD's supplied by Lee.
I'm thinking about ordering trijicon for my S&W 910s. I'm thinking it will be a matter of tapping out the old sights and tapping in the new and adjusting them at the range. Has anyone done this themselves. Are there any tips and tricks anyone can offer. It is $130 for the sights alone and I'd...
What is the difference between a 125 grain jacketed bullet and a 125 grain copper plated bullet. Why are the load recipes different. I just fired a 100 rounds of .38 special using the load data for a 125 grain jacketed bullets and they worked very well but I am thinking that perhaps that was...
What a difference a good belt makes. It's my first real gun belt and all I can say is wow! If anyone out there is carring on a belt that is not made for a holster go out and get a belt that is made for carrying. I am completely satisfied with my new Dillon belt.
