In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and...
I've had and still have a bunch of guns, but I've always admired the Colt Gold Cup. I've been considering another 1911 and was looking at the Springfield & Sig offerings. I just checked several online vendors and discovered, to my surprise, that for less than the pistols I was looking at, I can...
I have a Caspian-made SS 1911 slide that is already cut for a rear sight. A sight with a Novak dovetail is too large. Is a Bo-Mar cut smaller (narrower)? Just trying to get some adjustment in the rear without having to make a new cut. Thanks.
I just finished my first trigger job -- as in a drop in kit from Cylinder & Slide. The finished job passes all the safety checks and the trigger is SWEET...about < 4# (SWAG) & crispy. If you have the mechanical skills of a monkey, you should be ablle to accomplish this, also. This was the first...

I saw this on another board and Skunkabilly's name popped into my head. Yes, it's gun related; the cops shot the guy w/ a bean-bag round. Other than that, only in Arkansas:
VAN BUREN, Ark. — A man accused of assaulting and tying up his mother because he was reportedly mad about the death of...

Am getting ready to pull the trigger on a Nikon Primos 3x9x40 for my AR. This scope is a BDC type, but nowhere can I find if It comes with inserts or dials in for different calibers.
Am also considering a Swift 4.5x14x44 mil-dot. How do they compare? What's the warranty on the Swift?
Anybody...
Why did Federal stop marketing these? They do have a 105 gr. +P EFMJ round, but the 124 gr. +P seems to have fallen off the charts for current production.
Were there problems with this load? Was it an answer to a non-existant question? Or, has EFMJ ammo gone out of fashion?
The only reason I...
I jiust got back from the range. I went to sight-in a new scope on my AR (M-4gery). It was OK. Got it sighted and that was that. Then I dragged out my CMP Springfield M1 for a little exercise.
I have used the 5.56mm and the 7.62 Nato in social situations (long ago and far away). But, I gotta...
Just got about 200 of these 9mm's from a neighbor (Oh, my bad booolets...please take them far away!!!).:what:
What is the bullet type? Gold Dot? HydraShock? Crap-o-La?
Many thanks
Just got my Sig P6 (225) 9mm from CDNN. WOW!!! I paid the extra bucks for hand-select and this pistol looks virtually NIB.
The only ding on the finish is on the forward tip of the trigger guard and is probably honest holster wear. Even the plastic grips have their sharp checkering. The...
I couldn't resist. I am so weak. I just ordered a Sig P6 (the German Police version of the Sig 225, a single stack 9mm). I tried AIM, but they were on back order and my VISA card was cocked & locked, so I called CDNN and pulled the trigger. I should have it Thursday or Friday.
I'll take some...
Greetings:
I have two 1911s that need trigger jobs. I am curious, what have you guys been paying a competent gunsmith (not Mr. Custom 1911 builder) for a carry trigger job?

OK, talk me out of an M1 Service Grade from CMP.
I've got a couple of ARs, a Saiga (7.62x39) and a great old Ishapore Enfield (7.62x 51). Everything is a shooter. The ARs are the most accurate; the Enfield is just flat fun to shoot, and the Saiga is an AK47 in a designer dress.
I no longer...
Just got new 1911 and am very pleased, with one exception. After about 150 rounds of two different brands (Blaser & WWB) 230gr. ball, it shoots consistently 4+" low at 12 yds.
The questions are:
1. Should I get out the file & start knocking down the frint sight?
2, Get a new, lower front...
Mitchell Arms?
At my local pawn shop is what MIGHT be a deal, steal or mistake. I need advice. It's a Mitchell Arms Gold Series/95 in .45ACP, all stainless, matte finish, flat-top slide, adjustable target sights, one 8-rnd. Mitchell-marked magazine. It's tight, clean and crisp. I can...
