    Check my data, 9mm 115g FMJ, 700x

My Speer manual says 4.0 to 4.4. Lyman pistol and revolver says 3.1 to 4.5 with the 4.5 being "potentially most accurate load". at 1.090 OAL

Powder puff .38spcl loads for a LCR

I use Hodgdon PB. 4.4 grains with a 125gr xtreme plated and magnum primer. Felt recoil is almost non-existent and don't have unburned powder. They keep my stainless revolver cleaner than some other powders.

    9mm with penatrators - OK?

I have a bunch of 9mm "carbine only" rounds with black tips. They pass the magnet test so I don't think they are AP. Action arms imported them from IMI years ago when they were selling Uzi's, etc. Brand name on the box is "Eagle". I have fired them from my Uzi carbine and they are "hot" rounds...

    LIGHT load request-.38 special

I don't load any lead but with a plated 125gr bullet I use 4.4gr of Hodgedon PB. I use a magnum primer and powder location is not a problem. They burn clean and felt recoil is almost non existent. UL

    Loose primer pockets????

The sharpie mark is a good idea. On 223,s I am sure I could feel if it was too easy. Especially the swaged one's that are usually a little tight.

    Newbie needs advise

Never used ramshot but do a lot of 9mm. As long as your load is within range (under max), give it a try and see how it performs. I do differ the loads for my Uzi carbine and my handguns. The Uzi is built like a tank and I have used the IMI "carbine only" rounds. They are hot little rounds I...

    Loose primer pockets????

I've seen several posts that mention "loose primer pockets". In my decades of reloading I have not encountered this. I use an old single stage as my priming station so I don't get as much "feel" of resistance such as with a hand primer. So what actually constitutes a loose pocket? Most of the...

    Pushback

I prefer to tap test. That is taping the bullet (about as hard as I can with one hand) on soft wood. Of course this doesn,t include soft points. I have never had a problem with pistol cases. Have had problems with 7.62x39 due to the violent action, especially with xtreme bullets which are short...

    Standard vs Magnum Primers

I use them all the time in 38 spcl "lite" loads with PB and SR7625 for a much cleaner burn.

    Reloading safety

I use rc's method with some variations. I charge 10 cases at a time, weighing every fifth charge. I call the measured charge my "golden bullet" and it always goes at the top of the row of five in the tray. Then the pen light check. Then I place a bullet in one case and hold it as I move it to...

    First load work up question...

If it's only 10 rounds, and they will cycle your gun. I'd shoot em!

    Good side of powder shortage

But sometimes the new loads aren't as good and they cost more!~!! I do agree it is fun to work up new loads though;)

    RCBS TC 40 S&W Seater and x-treme

Thanks gentlemen. Something I haven't seen so wanted to check. Been loading since Bill Clinton first threatened a 200% ammo tax. No matter how long you do this, there is always something new and different!

    RCBS TC 40 S&W Seater and x-treme

Hey All, I have a three die set of RCBS TC 40 S&W/10mm auto dies. I have had them a long time. I don't load 40 S&W too often because I don't have one anymore. I load for friends. I was just working on some x-treme 165gr RNFP loads. I noticed that the seater plug was leaving a slight...

Reloading for a short barrel revolver...

I've used the universal clays for light 9mm loads. This should work fine for a 38 spcl, 125gr FP. Right now I am using PB for light 38 sp loads with a 550 primer.

2400 getting low, whats next in line for 357 and 44 mag

I have had good success with the 4227 in both 38spcl and 357mag. I don't load to super hot most of the time. But that is a nice clean burning powder.
