Question for pistol manufacturers - why no lefty slide stops?

good question! I'm a lefty but shoot right handed and while i do a sortof slingshot to release the slide i would be worried about getting one of those malfunctions where you have to lock your slide back and clear the breach etc. (can't remember what "type" malf that is but if you've taken a...

Rohrbaugh R9S long awaited range (and ammo) report.

First of all thanks. I've been looking for a more orderly evaluation than someone shooting a mag or two from a borrowed gun. Secondly were there any FTF, FTE or any other malfunctions during your shooting? TIA.

Carbine classes: What is everyone shooting?

at a pat rogers class i took last year everyone had ARs except for one Armalite .308 (AR10?) and a romak AK. The .308 had continous malfunctions, the opinion was the tight match type chamber. That shooter , an experienced shooter BTW, ended the course with an AR. The AK shooter i did not...

    AR disassembly question?

loosen or remove the screw and pistol grip, when you take the PG off you'll notice a small spring coming out of a recess in the left side of the grip, that spring applies presure to a detent pin that is retaining your safety, the pin may fall out when you remove the spring. Make sure that when...

    Immediate action drills

I usually make it a point to pick up a empty case or two when i'm stuffing my mags at the range and insert them randomly into the mags on my glocks. Damn good thing to practice as i still can't do it gracefully after many many reps.

    ACOG on a removable handle?

I guess i'm missing something. Why would you want to add another components tolerances to the chain when you can just mount directly to the flattop? Use a QR mount or even the dual thumbscrew Trijicon mount and you can quickly dismount and pop something else on. My TA01NSN mounts much more...

    AR15 rail help please.

also called a 1913 rail i believe, for the year in which the spec was developed. Be aware that not every rail, even a picatiny, are created equal. although i think your RRA rail is fine (mine is).

    Rohrbaugh R-9s DELIVERED!

man i sure wish more people were writing about shooting this gun! With summer approaching i would surely like a reliable pocket 9, but frankly i am not convinced it is doable in a package this small. When i start reading about folks putting several hundred rounds through one with no...

Anyone have a link to those "ice" holsters?

following that logic i would need to find a vibram belt...maybe not a bad idea considering my gut growth.

Shorty/Carbine FALs to fit intermediate and CQB rifle roles?

yeah i've considered getting rails for my lightweight 18" carbine but i'm worried about the weight up front. Light's a given and maybe a VFG but then with the weight of the rail i'm worried about swinging too much weight around. That's why i ended up going with a lightweight barrel and a KAC...

Too thin for a shoulder holster?

back when i weighed 133 lbs and was 6 ft i used to carry a S&W 39 in a shoulder holster in a way and a place and among people that would have resulted in me getting in a lot of trouble, i had no problem.

    DSA FAL accuracy

I don't have a DSA but a FAL i built recently shot a 2.45" group ( 5 shot 100yd) off of a rest with irons and cavim surplus ammo. I would expect a DSA to do at least that well if not better. Course any rifle can be a dog.

    Question for AR-15 builders

i just built one with a RR flattop and a bushy 16' preban lightweight profile barrel. No problem. Frankly i don't see much difference between uppers, their all just tubes to me. Besides this one i have a bushmaster, and 2 colts that i built.

    12gauge or AR

Not without a source it doesn't. Plus there it isn't clear, by automatic weapons is the source referring to full auto? If so subguns, MBRs, AW, SAWs what? Does the "quote" also mean that everyone that was "hit" by a single pellet was killed? It sounds like something someone heard from...

    12gauge or AR

You know for all the talk of SHTF scenarios i really have no idea what it means, in realistic terms. I know what rioting is, its typically what some people of low morals, income, and probably intellect do when they think that the law has been suspended. Damage is typically confined to the...

Rohrbaugh R9-s: "To Shoot Or Not To Shoot. That Is The Question."

There is no way that dry firing and hand cycling rounds through it (dangerous BTW), or even a couple of mags of whatever ammo the factory put through it can adequately test it for reliability with you shooting it with your ammo. Its small size and lack of slide stop will make any jams you might...
