I was thinking of buying a thumbhole stock for my mossberg 500. Are there any practical benefits? I use mine for deer (mostly buckshot), waterfowl, and turkey hunting.

If your using buck shot keep the range within 30 yds on black bear(00 or 000). Use remington buckhammer or brennekke slugs out to longer ranges.

Isn't that impossible because the bolt is attached to the slide which is all attached to the barrel? As you pull the barrel off the slides comes with it and locks the bolt in place

I'm probably going to sound like a moron for asking this but.... It's a 1947 and I've managed to break it down but while taking the barrel/slide off the bolt locks in place. How do I unlock the bolt and take it out? Thanks.
