Specifically, the cylinder bolt notches. I notice they are roundish in shape.....oblong. Why do these guns NOT have a notch "lead-in" like all other revolvers? Obviously something unique to the guns cocking action, a primitive design maybe......but why? Just curious. Russ

At the Berea Ohio show I picked up a very nice .44 mag. Gun is about 1972/73 vintage. Blueing is near perfect. Only blemish is a slightly buggered extractor rod which I plan on relacing.

Many years ago (mid 1970's) I had an 1860 44 cal. Colt repro made by Iver Johnson. I was just a teenager when I received this gun as a gift from my uncle, complete with 44 cal balls/flask/tools etc. I never had the chance to shoot the gun as it was stolen from me about a year later. Oh...
