Glocks my biggest problem is this

And it just in my head Im sure. I have a 5 inch barrel for my P229 40 S&W I get 1205 fps with a 180 jhp. It only holds 12 rounds in the mag. The Glock holds more rounds but and to me this is a big but does it gain enough power to justify a new gun and is it accurate ? Most of the time it does not take much to get me to buy another gun. Its a weakness I have ,
Thanks, Keith

Once you learn the trigger on the Glock, they are very accurate. For me not 1911 accurate, but not very far away indeed. I shoot them better than I do my Sig P220.

Nope. CZ bought Dan Wesson a long time ago. Bob Serva, former pres of DW Firearms, still works there. He just saw a way to make some money. Can't say I blame him.

Isn't that more than unusual turnover for a company?

I could not find them listing any Razorbacks on the site either.

kid, if velocity is your game and you are okay with extended barrels, you could get a 5.5 inch barrel for the 10mm and it would really shine. Double Tap tests its loads through the standard 4.6 inch barrel of a Glock 20 as Mike McNett is both a 10mm fan and a Glock fan. He advertises his 180 gr JHP loads between 1300 and 1350 fps, I believe. The 180 gr Gold Dot load I am currently using is rated at 1300 fps. According to a Speer rep, this velocity shouldn't present any problems, but it is at the upper end of the bullet's velocity threshold. I am not sure if I would want to push it any faster. If you were looking for an increase in firepower with the Glock, I would maybe try a heavier bullet. A 200 gr JHP @ around 1250 fps, perhaps?

We are on the same page

I have a 5 inch 357 sig for the P229 and a 5 inch 40 for the P229 also a 4.7 in for the P239 in 357 sig. All are Bar-Sto.

My next project is a

375 JDJ barrel for my Contender. Then I will look for a used Glock 20. And get a longer than factory Bar-Sto barrel for it. Been thinking about it for years. There are 3 gen. of Glocks is there one that is better than the rest or is it as it should be the 3rd Gen. is the best ?

Geesh, MT is right again.
I just put a m29 under the bed stuffed with the 230g DT Equalizers. These utilize a 130g bullet and a round ball.

My vote goes to the DW Razorback. I have one I bought a few years ago new, had a minor feed problem, called the factory and Bob Serva, the owner, got on the line and then put on his 'head 1911 builder.' The gun came back internally reworked and as close to perfect as anything I could ask for. (The original was fine to start with, simply a bit of rough edge on the ramp.)

I plan on keeping this one, but have shot several others, and all of their owners swear by them, not at them. That is why you may have a hard time finding one. However, I did speak to CZ regarding a rifle last month, and I am told that the Razorback 10 or something on the same lines is or will be back soon -- no doubt for more money however. So, if you can find one, grab it, you will not regret it. Dave

Buy you a Para Ordnance P-16 Limited...send the barrel to Hunter's Custom and have it reamed to 10mm...add a CP shockbuff & 22 lb recoil spring. Thats all folks...17 rounds of 10mm is WAY COOL!

That's exactly what I did and it works great. Nothing like a 17 round, stainless steel 1911 for under $550 total investment!

How long is the barrel ? (on a 1076)

The S&W 1076 has a 4.25" barrel. I bought one a few weeks ago and it has quickly become my favorite winter carry gun. It's built like a tank, is lights-out accurate, and very reliable.

The day after I got it, I took it to the range with a friend that shoots a 10 mm Delta Elite in IDPA matches. He brought a variety of handloads he was trying out. Anything that wouldn't fire reliably through his Colt went into the Smith and worked (Don't flame me - I'm not bad mouthing Colt). The 1076 earned the nickname "Garbage Disposer".

I can't recommend this gun highly enough.

Here's one on Gunbroker:
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=42026603

This could be a good deal. The auction includes 4 mags which usually sell for about $30 each on their own. Watch it though, you might be bidding against me.
