:) Well I just came home with a new 10mm, will someone recommend a good target round (make and weight). Please also what do you recommend for personal defense round?

I shot some 200 grain at the gun shop...whew what a horse....

I load 180gr truncated fmj with 9.9gr of blue dot, not too hot but not a wimpy load either.

When I go out in the country I load full power cor-bons in my G-20 for self defence against 2 and 4 legged creatures that might cause me harm.

Check out www.georgia-arms.com I have been 100% pleased with their ammo and have been using it for years. I have never ordered from them. I live close enough to buy direct or from local gunshows. If you have to pay shipping it may make buying local more cost effective. Check them out

How bout Doubletap's equalizers

Penetration. Expansion. Damage. Power. Controllable.
These are words used to describe the new 230gr. Equalizer from DoubleTap.

What about two shots in one?
A 135gr. JHP over a 95gr. lead ball @ 1040fps. This load is VERY accurate and
produces two holes on target. The ball hits high every time - less than one inch
from the JHP @ 10yds and 2.5" from the JHP @ 25yds

Caliber : 10mm

Bullet : 230gr. two projectiles: 135gr. JHP and 95gr. lead ball

Ballistics : 1040fps/ 553 ft./lbs. - Glock 20
Glock 29 - 1000fps

I haven't tried them yet but have some on the way, they look fun!

Got a 23 as well, thats my primary carry....I guess you can say I have started collecting calibers instead of guns.... ok what about the cheapest retail target...the double tap looks like fun or "hurt" depending on what end your standing...

I ordered 500 rounds of 10mm 180 grain truncated cone FMJ and 100 rounds of 180 grain Gold Dot JHP +P from Georgia arms on November 20th, and received it today. Small glitch though. What was supposed to be the 100 rounds of JHP turned out to be just another 100 rounds of FMJ in another package.

I gave them a call, and they credited the 100 rounds against the 500 rounds of 9mm that is still on backorder.

I have loved the stuff I have gotten from Georgia Arms, but don't expect to get anything anytime soon.

I am a big fan of Double Tap ammo for 10mm, but my experience with a box of 50 Equalizers did not live up to the advertising claims -- all 50 rounds through my Dan Wesson CBOB produced about 4-6" dispersion at seven yards, and it was usually horizontally strung (or mostly horizontal) rather than vertical.

Acceptable accuracy for close range self-defense ammo, but not terribly impressive. I prefer a hot 200 grain 10mm load, personally (including a number of options Double Tap makes).

For target shooting and range work, I've mostly been shooting HSM 180 grain recently, as it is pretty commonly available locally.

For targets the American Eagle round, it's basically the same as .40S&W in a 10mm case.

Bitterroot Valley Ammo has the best prices recently on 180 gr FMJ ammo for 10mm.

I have used Georgia Arms ammo in the past, but now reload. BVAC looks pretty good to me and would have my business if I were buying today.
