I'm trying to decide on a pistol for pocket carry and was wanting something that still packed some punch while being slimmer then a j frame, and these were some of the choices I've narrowed it down to (if you have something better in mind let me know) and please do state your reason behind your choice.

Sig P232 Stainless. Because it's so sexy!!

Untill now I haven't considered them sexy. Thernlund I think I might have to get one now darn you lol.

Kel Tec, great gun. Very reliable. Surprisingly accurate for such a short barrel.

If truth be told, many that claim they carry the "behemoths"; actually are packing a .380, especially in the summer...:uhoh:

I carry a Beretta M85FS in the summer. Yes there are smaller .380's, but I can shoot this gun well and its still easily concealable.

..... S&W 442!!! haha sorry, I was waiting for someone to do it! Sig is great gun, little big IMHO compared to the keltecs.

Try one of the Kahr 9s. I have a CW9 (the low end Kahr 9) and it pocket carries fine in an Uncle Mike's #3 pocket holster. Just very slightly bigger than a Bersa Thunder 380CC (have one of those too).

If it makes any difference, bullet diameter is the same.
The Bersa 380 will throw 95 grains at 900-1000 fps; the Kahr will throw 125 grains 1000+ fps (haven't chrony'd my 9mm defensive ammo yet that's just a practice load).
The Bersa 380 is 8+1, the Kahr CW9 is 7+1.

I like the Kahr but the Bersa is carry plan B in case the Kahr isn't available for some reason.

My .380 Choice

Ruger LCP for summer carry. I have one and it is great. Fall/Winter? In .380 my Beretta Cheetah!

3paT because it was cheap and plentiful.

I use a .380 for those 'quick trip' things where I'll jump in the car in sweats to get something for the kid, things like that.

I'm pretty interested in the new Kahr as a replacement and gotta' say that the Sig 232 above might be the prettiest pistol available today. Too bad it's as big or bigger than many 9mm pistols and heavy on top of that.

I am really happy with my Bersa .380 only problem is that the magazine kinda sticks out a little. I would suggest using Hornady's SXT ammo so you can get a little more penetration out of the .380.

I'd go with the Sig P232 SL, great company with a great reputation of manufacturing extremly well built and designed firearms. IMO And it does look pretty damn skippy!

The NAA Guardian .380 is a bit on the heavy side but that sure helps with the recoil when firing it. Mine's going to get back pocket carried once I get my CWP.

My .380 summer carry weapon is also my .380 spring, fall, and winter carry piece: a Walther PPK/S. Don't leave home without it.

I said something else because even though I do usually carry a 380 Guardian, I picked up an LCP today and after a couple boxes of ammo, may also carry it.

I like the Walther PPK/S and the Bersa CC .380, the only problem is that they are quite a bit bigger than the Kel-Tec and Ruger LCP. If you are pocket carrying this gun, go with the smaller Ruger and Kel-Tec.

Myself, I am looking for a S&W 340 J-Frame for pocket carry. I can't get anything that resembles a grip on the Ruger and Kel-Tec, and as I mentioned, the Bersa and PPK/s are just a bit too big for my pockets.
