Just wondering how many carry a .45 for a concealed carry piece. I usually carry a .38 snub but am toying around with carrying the .45 If you carry a .45, what holster have you found works the best for you??

The 1911A1 is one of the most concealable pistols I have owned, when the holster matches the style of clothing I wear. Overall length is rarely the issue when CCW, but becasue it is so slim it has distinct advantages over some shorter revolvers.

I CCW a 5" 1911A1, a Springfield XD-45 or a Glock 29 10mm every day.

My S&W 442 .38 Centennial is still carried quite often as a pocket carry defense gun.

I carry a Kimber Classic Royal 5". For deep concealment, I can easily hide it under a t-shirt with a Milt Sparks #1 Heritage IWB holster. It's a great low riding IWB holster, and since the gun is thin it'll seriously just disappear quite easily.

i carry an h&k usp compact 45 in a iwb clip on.im also thinkin about a 686 with 2 1/2 barrel. i do have a 3 inch 44 mag i might pack this winter with 165g jhp specials(corbon)

Started out with a 5" 1911 in a Sparks Heritage IWB holster.

After health issues, I cannot tolerate an IWB holster. Now I carry a LW Commander in 9x23 (essentially no different) in a Sparks Road Runner OWB holster.

Ruger P345, but I'm fairly new to carrying.
It's cold now, so it'll be in a shoulder holster a lot, but I also have a kydex OWB that conceals pretty well.
I have a IWB for it on order.

Uncle Mike's makes an IWB holster that's usable with a full-size .45 (I think it's a #4 or 5, but I'm not sure)

When I carry my full size M1911A1, it is in a Roy's Pancake belt holster. I've had and used the Roy's Pancake holster for nearly 30 years.

XD45 for winter in either a Crossbreed or FIST IWB holster

PT-745 for summer in the same holster, but may have to replace the Taurus with the new shortened grip XD45 which was just announced.

45 ACP for CCW

Glock 21 with 1 spare mag. Getting ready to order Comp-TAC's new Infidel holster for it.

I also like their definition of Infidel - One who will protect their women and children, not hide behind them.

God bless our troops and their families.

I beg of you, ditch the .38 unless you carry it as a backup piece

Do the .45 and don't look back

aside: Shooter973, I don't blame you for liking the Star, I have the M43 9mm and love it!

I just purchased a Taurus Millennium Pro PT145 (.45 ACP) on Sunday, that will hopefully, soon replace my 9mm for everyday carry.

Of course it will keep my P3AT company. :D

I have used a Glock 36 but prefer the S&W 642. The G 36 has more firepower but is a bit bulky.

I have on my Ca. CCW card: Colt Lt. weight Officer's model ,Colt Combat Commander and now a S&W Scandium PD Commander. I use a Mad Dog 'Taylor Thunderbolt' Kydex(hold all 1911 series) on a Liger 1.5 "Ligerthane ' belt. I am leaning toward the S&W commander lately, I put 2500 rounds thru it to trust it!:D
