I have found a standard XD .40 4" used but in very good shape for $339.00. I think this is a good to possibly great deal, and I am torn between getting this and then getting a XD .45 ACP at a later date or just waiting for the XD .45. Not having seen the .45 I am wondering if the .40 would be better for Concealed carry. Any suggestions?

The .40 and 45ACP are about the same size with the 45ACP being just a bit larger. Go here: http://www.hs2000talk.com/ to get the full story on the differences. They are both great pistols.

I am pretty sure $339 on a XD is a good deal.

Depending on what kind of shape the XD is in that may be a great deal. I've carried an XD 40 service and its pretty beefy. I only carry my Taurus mil pro now but regret selling my XD, it was a great firearm and I will buy another one!

My XD 40 Service cost 429$ NIB with 3 12 round mags.

339$ for one in nice shape is an excellent buy.
