Just though I would gather some tasty pictures here together for some of the tantilizing guns we have this year and soon to be released.
We have the XD 45acp, and now an XD .45acp compact, S&W's M&P .45 soon, FN has a .45 coming out soon, the HK 45, Taurus has a new "tactical" .45 and of course we have heard of the new Glock 21sf, and the Glock 36 tactical.
SHOT 2007 should be full of fun .45s for our drooling pleasure. I imagine I will wait a bit for them to get some bugs worked out and see who might be coming out with the best reliability/price package. And of course I want to fondle them all!
Now I have only handled the XD.45 acp, but from the look of it I am personally liking the FN and S&W right now. I know .40 and 9mm FNs and S&Ws have been going for very reasonable prices, so hopefully that trend continues.
With this many new choices I feel like agreeing with so many who say we are truly living in a great time of firearms development and ownership.

Hello

Wow! Great pics. I can't wait, the FN and HK are now on my wish list.

Me, I'll grab a nice 1911 and hold out for the Beretta Px4 .45ACP.

I get chills just thinking about it;)

I would definately include a 1911 in that list (what .45 discussion is complete without the 1911 :neener: ), namely the STI Spartan.

geeze guys, its not about 1911 vs. every gun in the world all the time. I was just gathering some pics of some NEW offerings.
I don't know when most are coming out, but most are due to be at least AT the SHOT show, now when they are at gun stores who knows.
The XD is out, and its not really a sub compact like the 9s and 40s, but the grip is chopped so it only holds 10 rounds with a shorter mag or the 13 with a regular mag with the gap filler as seen in the pic. I've heard alot of people can still get all their fingers on the chopped grip.
I haven't really seen much on the new Berretta in .45, but maybe we will at SHOT.
I have a 1911, love it, but one of these guns will be in my collection in the next couple of years I bet.

I'm keeping my eye on the HK45/HK45c. I was planning on getting a USP45c, but I'm holding out for the new guy with the ambi slidestop.
I'm also a little interested in the Taurus although that safety/decocker looks vestigial. I'd also be interested in the FN, their pistols are sweet.

Glock...ah Glock. I would love a full-sized version of the G36 (or a singlestack G21 depending on how you look at it). But I'm not holding my breath.

Plus all of our favorite 1911 houses are running full tilt.
As you said, a good year for 45.

Sure it is. That is the bar they are all shooting for. (no pun intended)
HA! Yeah I'm afraid we make it that way, don't we?

TexAg,I know it's not about 1911 vs. everything else. I'm actually a fan of HK's ergonomics, performance, and reputation. And you're right, if you're devoted to the .45 caliber but not sworn to the 1911 platform then yes, 2007 will be a very good year.
