Fella's;

Finding whup-ass Linebaugh loads isn't a real problem, we all know that. But, finding less than battleship-killer loads that are workable is. The Linebaugh doesn't particularly like loads that don't fill the case, and several sources caution against trying to do so. I'll bow to their advice & not try to find out the hard way why they think it's a caution worth paying attention to even though the gun I'm using is supposedly bomb-proof.

I've used 18 grains of Blue Dot in Hornady cases with the 425 grain Cast Performance gas-check with good results. That gives 1250 fps out of the gun's six inch barrel. That's all the stouter I want to go with it either. A friend of mine swears by Ramshot's Enforcer & ups the velocity ante by a fair margin with excellent accuracy. However he's almost literally twice my size & has the mass to absorb more recoil.

I'm thinking of trying one of the high-mass-low-energy powders for lighter bullets, & thought I'd tap into the membership here to see if anyone has some experience. Anything's on the tabel though, let's talk about the .475 Linebaugh.
