Post 6- Has an AK
Post 7- Has Ar's
Post 8- Has SKS
Post 9- No info
Post 10- "Has seen impressive results from them all"
Post 11- Has mini 14
Post 12- Is my post
Post 13- Implies he has had all 3
Post 14- Is where you start accusing us of having no experience with these guns.

How exactly is your experience with these gun "FACTS" and not just anecdotal stories, like everyone else's?

Why don't you go ahead and tell us how many dozens of each gun you have owned and scientifically tested, so we can all disregard our own experience with the same models that we have owned.

I have owned SKS rifles, one Chicom Norinco Paratrooper model - miss that one -and a couple of Yugos. The Yugos seemed to be more accurate. I have had two AKM clones, one Hungarian and one ROMAK. The Hungarian was FAR more accurate than the ROMAK. All of the SKS rifles were far more accurate than the ROMAK.
I have never owned a 7.62x39mm Ruger Mini-30, just a couple of 5.56mm Mini-14s over the years, and neither of them really impressed me with being incredibly accurate, but they were, as mentioned, very well built.
Out of all the rifles I personally have owned and have mentioned, I would go find that Hungarian with factory vertical foregrip...sold it in California 3 weeks before the ban went into effect. Oops.
Only rifles I have in the caliber now are this CZ 527CSR,

And my trusty SA vz-58. Both are above your price range, unfortunately, but if you can ever get one, I recommend them both.

With apologies, best I can do for you at this time.

Really ?

The OP was about the mini 30 and its accuracy compared to the rest.

SO if by your own 'poll' that tells me that the first few did not own or shoot THEIR OWN rifle in that caliber to compare it to the mini 30.

I am not here for a urinating contest, and I am not about to post all the rifles I own or have owned [ none of your business ].

BUT having owned a few of the rifles in question, and having FIRST HAND SHOOTER knowledge of them = I gave my OWNER/SHOOTER opinions.

Not what I was told or heard or ---- thought, unless it was real hard facts.

That is why I go to THR,and I was under the impression the OP was looking for the same.

Actually the original post stated this:

Has anymore ever done a side by side comparison for velocity, accuracy, and effective range on an AK vs SKS vs Ruger Mini 30? If so, what were the results?

Seems to be comparing all 3 of the rifles with each other.

BUT having owned a few of the rifles in question, and having FIRST HAND SHOOTER knowledge of them = I gave my OWNER/SHOOTER opinions.

I know it has escaped your attention twice and probably will again, but SO WERE WE. We have also had real world, hands on experience, with two or all 3 of the rifles in question.

Here is a little tip from Logic 101 class:

If shooter A knows that the SKS is more accurate than the Ak, and Shooter B knows that the Mini 30 is more accurate than the SKS, you can conclude that the Mini 30 is the most accurate rifle.

Here is another tip from science 101:
With a small sample size in uncontrolled test conditions, any evidence you have gathered is purely anecdotal. Whether you have 1 of each or 4 of each gun, it is still your anecdotal experience of individual models of guns, differing ammo types, differing wind conditions, differing temperatures, human interference (unless you ransom rested the rifles) etc etc. The pleural of anecdote is NOT evidence. All we can really offer is the story of our experience. You seem to think that your experience equals fact where ours equals story, but there really is no difference.

Now, can we please tell what happened when we shot the guns, and you tell what happened when you shot the guns and leave it at that?

LOL

I know that to argue with a "expert" is to waste ones time and energy - you sir are that "expert".

I leave all that "logic 101" to you and your logic.

I will disagree, and leave it at that = as I said = to argue with an expert !!!.

I submit that using your "logic" all your adding is ANECDOTAL .

Just an aside, but you all do realize that Ruger 20 round factory mags for both the 14 and 30 are readily available dirrect from Rugers website, as well as dealers that stock Ruger accessories.

They have been for several years now. This is not 1994.

On the subject of price vs value, they are all a bit overpriced right now in my opinion. The SKS is really not worth more than 300-350 dollars, and the AK about 500-550. The Mini 30 might be worth close to 600, depending on what model it is, and your luck on getting an accurate one.

Considering that ARs are running under 700 dollars, the value of all three of these 7.62x39 rifles do not merit their prices being 600 dollars. Go try and buy a half dozen Ruger magazines for the Mini and see how much that ups your base price.

I do love the SKS and Mini 14 for what they are, but then again, I gave 69-99 dollars for some of my SKS's and no more than 400 for the Ruger Minis I've had. I found the AK's I Had to be too clunky and nose heavy. I hate the way the stocks fit me.

You also have to factor in that a lot of us have probably been shooting cheap steel cased ammo when we've done accuracy testing with them. Could be that reloads done right might have made a tack driver out of any of them.
