870P Price Check

Merry Christmas,
Thanks for all the recent informative threads on the 870P. You've done such a great job describing the shotgun and its features I went to look for one today. I found not one but three models on the shelf to choose from and wonder how the prices are.

I first looked at the 870P Max for $679.00

The next model is not on Remington's website today. It was the 870P with extended magazine tube, standard rifle sights, and wood stock for $449.00

The last model was the standard. I didn't price it.

Those prices look pretty good to me. Today I picked up my synthetic stocked 870P with the ghost ring rear and post front sight (Order #4449) and it set me back $580 before tax.

That is exactly what I paid for my wood stocked 870P, I love that gun. The only thing I've changed is adding a buttcuff to hold 4 shells, and I'm having GR sites put on it next year.

Good choice on the Police model over the express

Back during the stone age when I was in the Corps I was stationed at Camp Schwab, Okinawa. Back then companies rotated in and out instead of individual Marines. Our AAV company happened to be in formation one day down at the ramp when the new tank company marched by. Our First Sergeant looked over at our Company Commander and said, "Sir I would rather have my sister in a cat house (not his words but you get the drift) than my brother in a tank company". Without breaking stride the tank company First Sergeant looked at him and replied "We just left Oceanside and I believe you've got your wish"!

Now that's funny I don't care who you are.
