9mm snubbies

At 32 ozs that revolver is just too heavy for a ccw gun, Like the one in the picture. It weighs as much as a 1911. No matter what your taste, there is a point of diminishing returns. The 110-14 oz j frames have a distinct advantage in weight and concealability. And you can shoot the 357 if you are willing and able. No matter how disturbing the recoil, when your life is on the line, it won't be fealt much at all. Also you may put a 38+p in for the first round and a 357 in for your follow up shot, "allowing you to get back on target fast".

Did anyone post this one?

If you insist on the 9mm revolver so be it.
If you seek a revolver that will do 38, plus P and .357 and comes in at 13.3 ounces take a look at the M&P 340 or 60. PD if you wish lighter still.
I found even Airweights at 16 ounces too heavy for the pocket.
340 in a Mika pocket holster.
XS night sights, add a set of CT grips, 405 or 305 and have about the most versatile snub there is.
I do the Speedstrip, two, two split for a fast (relative) reload in a wallet.

I can have a five gallon bucket of three varieties grab a handful and shoot any of them with confidence. Then there is reloading......

Standardization on one caliber is like trying to standardize on one nail for all projects.

Some food for thought. Here is a Kahr PM9 and a S&W J Frame both in pocket holsters. Both are in the 16-18 ounce range loaded.

Both of these I consider too heavy for pocket carry other than may cargos.

I'm starting to come around to the idea of a .38 +P. I'd still prefer the 9mm, but can't seem to get my hands on one. Actually, I've been to three LGS's in the past week, and so far I have seen ONE snubby revolver...

There was a dude who wanted 475 for his bobbed 905... i wanted it.. just not enough to drop a cool 500 on it... im just waiting for that nib one to come outta someones safe for 300

Any update?

Yeah, I'm putting looking for a snubby on the back burner for a minute. While searching the gun shops, I ended up trading my Sigma in for a Mossberg 500 kinda impulsively. I'll just continue to carry my 1911, even on the hot days.

I do appreciate all the advice, and I'll refer back to this thread when I save up some cash again for a snubby.

Fugate Firearms has two Smith 9s. One sold for $1200, and the other is still there for slight more than $1000.

Oops. I missed the last post.

Since that may never happen, you might consider an alternative.
David, Perhaps you don't understand my determination.

Ill get one for three hundred bucks at some point.

It will happen, Ill just have to remain vigilant... The only problem with this gun being that no company made many of them... even Taurus hasn't made many 905's... But when one comes up... Ill be there... Like a lion in the grass... waiting... for my moment.

At hight of AR/AK "KoolAid Kraze" I found boxed 940 for $499......anything is possible.

Well, if, when "your moment" happens, you find two, let me know!
