Out of those listed:
A G26. Had one, loved it, sold it because I wanted something else.

I'd rather have a K9 ... or an XD9sc though, if you want to go bigger than the Kahr.
Why the XD9sc, rather than the m variety? Purely subjective ergonomics.

Now that summer is coming I'm a bit concerned about how to wear the 19 without the Hawaiian shirt routine.

I can't carry jack without a shirt over it. 8(

Maybe I should rethink the Kahr if knowledgable people like Ala Dan and others recommend it. How is the DAO trigger? Gotta tell ya. Not a fan! I need to shoot one.

Creep, creep, creep, creep, BREAK.............when you least expect it?

The Kahr double action trigger is usually ... about 6 pounds or so and at max 3/4 of an inch, so you won't get the feeling of, for instance the double action on a 92 or anything.

What makes it comfortable for is the fact that it's wide and smooth, it's not borderline serrated like some of the trigger I've seen and shot.

I mean, it's in its nature for a double action trigger to require some pulling back before the shot breaks, so really you should probably try one. From the Kahrs I've tried it's pretty uniform in pull, too. So when you pulled on,e chances are others aren't going to be terribly too different.

That's what I see, anyhow.

I'm going to try to find a Kahr to shoot or ar least dry fire with a snap cap.

What's with the Generation 4 Glocks? Should I really stay away from a Gen 4 G26?

Glock 27 was my first one, bought it specifically because I like the service pistol format, and that was the smallest of the service type pistols.

Grew to love it. I used a FIST #1AK ultra-thin Kydex holster, it didn't feel too thick to me at all. Granted my alternatives were a fullsize USP, a S&W 9VE, or a CZ-97B, but it was an awesome fit.

I'd go 26 all the way.

If you're going to carry OWB, than G26 is the answer. If Pocket carry is what you want, the walther is the winner off of your list. For pocket nines, I think the place to look is Kel-tecs and Kahrs. (Rohrbaugh for the rich and J frames for me, for my opinion of pocket carry)

Just remember, as fat as the glock is...the m&p9c is ever so slightly fatter.

All the same, it is on my list of purchases.

I voted G26. I don't have one, but I have a G36 that I bought for summer carry because I didn't like my metal framed pistols touching my bare spare tire on a hot summer day. The G36 is now the pistol that I carry most often. I had always been a die hard all metal pistol guy prior. I drank the cool-aid, it must've been spiked.:D

I have to decide if I want the option to pocket carry. In that case I would go PPS, but I think overall I am leaning towards the G26.

I will go fondle a few in the local gunshop today or tomorrow.

Same here. I was a 1911 guy. I don't know what happened or where I went wrong...but I prefer my glock now. I can't believe I typed that. I feel like I deserve to be horse-whipped.

I voted for the XDMc but I feel the M&Pc is an even better choice and one you might want to consider, unless of course you already have.
To be fair the XDMc is larger and heavier than some of the other guns you listed, which is'nt condusive to easy and convienent summer carry so if that is one of your primary concerns then you might want to opt. for a different option. I chose it because the XDM line just really seems to fit me and they point very well for me.

I voted the 26 had one now I carry the 27,I also have a PM9 and its a great pistol accurate and for a double action its about as good as it gets.
That said I do not often pocket carry so I opt. for the Glock and the wife carries the PM9.If I do pocket carry I prefer the little J-frame or my P3AT.

I have a Kahr K9 as my EDC, it is an all steel handgun and has some heft to it. As an excuse to buy another weapon, for summer I'm planning to get a new Kahr CM9(when they come out) or find a nice deal on a used Kahr PM9.

IMO, none of the ones you listed are adequate for pocket carry, so I am thinking you intentions are to belt carry. Of these listed, I voted for the Glock 26, but would add the Pearce mag floor plate with the hook for the pinkie finger.

Just get the GLOCK 26, dump some CORBON in in the mags, and carry IWB and be done with it.!

... I carry a GLOCK 27 - summer, winter - whatever. It is really hard to beat the reliability and ease of use & carry of the GLOCK sub-compact. It can be concealed with the right holster in almost any attire. It has nothing sharp sticking out of it to make carry uncomfortable - so you will have it with you if it is ever needed.

I have bought carry pistols before & since and this is the one I choose to carry 99% of the time.

Anyone from Wright-Patt can't be wrong. I will most likely go with the G26, but want to try a few of the others before I make the final decision.

It's always summer carry in South Carolina lol. I just bought a Taurus 709 for my EDC, it replaced a P-64 that was my pocket carry and my Taurus 24-7 Pro Compact .45 that was my IWB carry. I can carry the Taurus either way, which is a huge plus.

I have the Kahr CW9. I can not get use to the trigger - it is extrememly smooth once broken in - not heavy at all but it is long and tends to stack a bit toward the rear and i consistantly pull low and left unless i really concentrate. It's me - i am just not a DAO kinda guy - My Taurus PT709 should be in Monday or Tuesday. The specs really speak to your situation - it may be worth checking it out - Gun has a lot of features for a reasonable price and it seems that the bugs are worked out at this point. My PT738 is surprising accurate for a small gun and everthing i read says the 709 is also. Just a thought

Long DAO triggers ain't my bag either. I just don't like them. When you get used to a 1911 or HK P7 trigger it spoils you. I have shot a friends G26 and I can get used to that trigger.

I didn't put the Kahr on the list for a reason.

BTW - if possible live fire the Kahr for testing - i dry fired it and thought it was great - but still can hit consistantly with it.

I didn't vote the poll. I came across a good deal on a Russki commercial Makarov while hunting for an S&W single stack and that's what I carry. 4 summers and the blueing has held up good. includeing carry on a m/c too.
not quite the 'punch' of 9mm Para but sufficient.

I've got four Makarovs. Two Bulgies, and East German and a Russian commercial in .380.

They are great guns, and fine to carry, but I am looking for 9x19 in something smaller and lighter than the Mak.

I have carried a Mak on and off.
