a few Glock questions...

I have a G36, .45 ACP with 3.78 inch barrel. Would like to consider getting a longer barrel for higher velocity. Any out there? Also what other modifications would be needed. Stronger recoil spring?

2 THINGS ,first , ask a professional who carries daily about the dependability of his Glock , easily 2 out of 3 LEO carry some cal of Glock . Second , check out the rental board at your local range ,if they are being honest , they'll tell you that they clean their Glocks less frequently than other brands , and have far fewer repairs too

Duke, if plastic pistols are so bad why is nearly every manufacturer copying them, including the great Beretta.
There is no doubt that the Beretta 92 is a great gun but I've got small hands and am point shooter, If I can't hold it right I can't shoot it right. The only way I can hold an M9 correctly is to remove grips. It's not just Berettas I have trouble with also Sigs, H&K, Smith autos, and Para-Ordinance and lots more.
Point shooters go from holster to after double-tap purely with muscle memory. The first aimed shot is the third shot if he's wearing armour because forehead is a harder target than center mass That came directly from the mouth of Jeff Cooper at Gun Sight in 1980's

I dont see the need to upgrade to a longer barrel. Even if you swapped out to a 6" barrel you might see a 80fps difference. But when you do that, it lowers the manueverability and concealability of the firearm. If you want more velocity but +P ammo like from Double Tap or Buffalo Bore. People usually only upgrade to a 6" barrel for their autoloader to meet their State requirements for hunting and/or accuracy/velocity.

youre kidding right? do you not see him drop the glock, swoosh it around, shake it off and fire compared to droping the beretta, scooping a gob of mud on the gun, shaking chunks of mud off the gun and his hand and then fire. Im not saying the Beretta will out do the glock in a torture test. But 99% of the firearm community will never need their guns to work in those conditions. So in day to day reliability, the Glock isnt any more reliable than the other top firearm manufacturers IMO.

Id rather have agun that jammed from my negligence of keeping it clean than from limp wristing. Glocks are notorious for jamming from limp wristing. If you injur your shooting arm(more likely during a dynamic critical incident than using a gun to dig a trench in the mud) you better hope you practice with your weak hand.
