This morning I stopped by my local gun store and bought a Beretta FS M9. While we were filling out the paperwork, I told the guy my wife was interested in the Beretta Cheetah 84fs. He told me to wait just a minute. He came back with a beautiful Cheetah 84 in the box with all of the original paperwork. $500.00. A quick field strip made it very obvious that it had not been fired. He has to hold it for 15 days, but I gave him a hundred to hold it. My wife has been looking at the Cheetah, and will now be getting it for her birthday.

Nice.

Mine was not so good. I went into to my local store. Its owned by a Russian family and all the cousins etc are behind the counter. They are pretty high-pressure but as long as you accept it, its not a problem and can actually be funny. But sometimes its irritating.
Like today for example, I was thinking of purchasing a Marlin lever action. So they had the one I want but when I was looking at it, the front site kept sliding left and right in the dovetail. It was really loose. Well the sales guy told me it was supposed to be that way. I said no its not, but there was a screw on the mount for the front site. So I asked if it that screw tightened up the front site. He told me no and kept saying there was nothing wrong with it. I was going to at least buy some ammo, but being treated like an idiot caused me to walk out without buying anything.

Sorry for the thread hijack. Glad you had a good day at the gun store.

OOh, nice. Even got an extra magazine!

I have the 92fs inox, and it's by far my favorite 9mm range gun.

Congrats, and Enjoy!

The Beretta Cheetahs are beautifully made, accurate and fun guns to shoot. I had a different version, a Model 86 (8+1-shot, tipup barrel). Not really very practical, as there are any number of compact 9mm-Luger-chambered pistols of equal size, but every gun purchase need not be driven by cold calculation. And I would not want to stand in front of 14 .380s with a determined person behind them.

Nice aquisition, and 100+ for thinking about something for your wife. The Model 84 is a great gun and is more than adequate for self defense, either at home or as a CCW.

Thanks all. I am off to the range to see how it shoots. My wife is very pleased with the upcoming Cheetah
