a true gun story... You'll all laugh

This ''OMG - he's got a gun'' mentality really saddens me .... it shows just how far down the slippery slope things have gone. At least in a lot of areas.

Damn the media .. they have much to answer for.

That tears it, dadgummit! I'm carrying openly tomorrow!

It's getting a little hot for two shirts anyway.

:uhoh: Or maybe not. I'm still a chicken.

carrying my ppk in a fanny pack as opposed to a holster

I know the ppk and the makarov I carried had lock down safety's
Somehow I couldn't bring myself to trust to a safety catch that was bouncing around in a loose package with my wallet, smokes, lighter. etc.
When it was in the holster I didn't worry and left it locked and loaded.
I guess it was just a personal preference on my part.

A firearm of any type is no more dangerous than a baseball bat.
It is only when they are employed in the willfull destruction of human life that the weapon takes on the aura of evil.
We, as responsible firearms owners/carriers, have the moral obligation to show the uninformed, that an armed free citizen, who tries to follow the path of good as well as one can in these times, are not the terrorists and criminals that the uninformed make the assumption that we are.
Several times I have had the distinct pleasure and most highest of honor to bring an uniformed, anti-gun person to the range...
Trust me, when you see the look of fear change to a giant grin you'll know what I mean. Start small, I bring a CO2 pistol everytime I go, not just for my kids to practice with, but for the occasional times when I happen to meet someone on the way who asks why I own guns...
Three times out of ten that I've invited total strangers along and I've convinced those three EXACTLY why I own a politically incorrect AK-47.
They are just so much FUN! The other 7 looked at me kind of funny and made a lame excuse. When I had asked one of them why they golf do you think he had the courtesy to ask me along to learn and play?
I still don't understand golf, but I don't hate the putter or the sand wedge because of some idiot who used one to kill somebody...
