just received my stripped lower from Anvil Arms....

$100 and the laser engraving was free....

Jon was VERY patient dealing with my artwork issues, as I drafted the image in Auto-CAD and then had to convert it to a format he could use. Let's just say I'm not a graphics guy! Thanks for bearing with me Jon.

This is my first AR build and I'm FAR from an expert, but I'm very pleased with both the quality of the machining and the finish.

So what do you think? (my photography skills really don't do it justice)

How long did it take to get it?

once I got my "artwork issues" straightened out, it only took about two weeks.

I was determined to make this graphic work and didn't want to buy the image (~$40 on some graphic arts web sights). And after I drafted it up, I didn't want to pay to have someone else convert it. So I wound up sending several different files down to Jon, before I got the bugs worked out and found one that would burn well. I knew he was sinking some time into this project, so I offered to pay him extra....but he wouldn't accept it.

I got the impression that Anvil's business is really booming, and they may be having some organization growing pains, but they're a class act as far as I'm concerned.

I have to congratulate you on making an image that good-looking in AutoCAD. That must have taken hours.

Thanks....

truth be told....it took about 6 hours (not all one session) to draft....

Auto-CAD is definately NOT the right application for this kind of work, but it's what I have and what I know....

How's the saying go....Improvise, Adapt, Overcome...;)

the build progresses...

I just took delivery of a 16" mid-length rifle kit from Del-Ton to go with this lower.

Everything arrived in tacts.....but my initial observation is that the finish on the upper is no where near as smooth and clean as the Anvil lower.

The two do fit perfectly, however.

Will withhold judgement untill I get her all put together, as it was my intent to put together an economical shooter.

I too just got a lower from Jon. I went with "REGISTERED PISTOL" on the back half and a peace sign with "PEACE THROUGH SUPERIOR FIREPOWER" in the same location as yours. Now if my Spikes .22LR upper would ever show up......

Awesome SSN Vet

John is working on a lower for me as well. From everything I have heard and read Anvil is a great company to work with.
