I'm not sure if this should be posted in the NFA forum, but this post isn't just about an NFA item.

To break it down, I had an issue with a suppressor and needed to get a part replaced. I attempted to get the repair performed back in Sept of 2020, but due to the bankruptcy of Remington (parent owner of AAC), my suppressor was returned to me without service. Advanced Armament Corp was sold off and apparently reformed into Advanced Armament Company in late 2021, whom I contacted to see about getting the repair performed.

The customer service, communication, and speed of my repair from the new AAC was stellar. They reached out to me about repairing my suppressor, and from start to finish, it was a total of 10 days. That also includes some personal travel in which I was not able to communicate with them, and a Federal Holiday.

Dealing with them prior to the bankruptcy and sale to JJE Capital Holdings was also good in their understanding of my issue and willingness to get the repair performed. Unfortunately, just after shipping my suppressor to them, I assume the company started the transition from Remington and halted all work concerning repairs.

For those interested, I put together a video detailing my timeline from the initial contact with AAC in September 2020, and then continuing to my end result in early July of 2022.

AAC is now located here in Huntsville. I occasionally have lunch with one of their employees. The guy in the above video say that they probably use the same machines I am fairly sure the new AAC is tooling up with a lot of new equipment and that they got little or no equipment from Remington in the Auction, just the trademarks and data rights. I don't have a problem with them not warranting pre JJE suppressors. The are legally completely different companies. The fact that they are willing to work on them and replace worn/damage parts is more than acceptable in my book. I have a pre-Remingtion AAC SDN-6 and it nice knowing I can still get is serviced if needed and I can get more 51T mounts when needed.

10 minute video? No thanks...

Did they repair it? Did they charge you?

Like mentioned above, the new company has no obligations to do anything.

JJE is the parent corporation of Palmetto State Armory and was founded by Jamin McCallum. They are now also manufacturing ammo under the AAC name.

Not everything JJE does is good or wise IMHO. AAC ammo is almost as stupid as putting the DPMS brand on PSA AK's. AAC has never made ammo and DPMS never make an AK. But JJE paid for the brands so they can **** on their brands however they want but anyone paying attention to the history of these brands knows that there is no continuity to the companies behind the brands. It's all marketing smoke and mirrors and rather wearisome. Buyer beware.

The whole situation for Rem / AAC was just very unfortunate and left a lot of people in a bad spot, it sucks for everyone. I completely get it that they are different companies and not obligated to perform repairs, and believe me, I am thankful and very pleased with my outcome.

As I mentioned in my original post, the customer service I received from AAC, both prior to and after the bankruptcy was fantastic, there is no way I could negatively criticize them for anything.

If the new AAC didn't get to keep their tooling, that's a shame, and I wonder what Remington would have done with it if they were not included with the sale to JJE. Maybe your friend at AAC can provide some details?

AAC's site lists their suppressors, but no other accessories, so you might have to wait to see about acquiring new 51T mounts. Also, when I look up "Dealers", the search comes up with "No results for this area" under multiple zip codes, so it looks like they are still getting things situated.

Not much of that equipment was overly specialized. They are also doing things to improve the design to make assembly easier. That new equipment is a big part of those process improvements.

They are still very much tooling up and getting production up and running but they are making 51t mounts in addition to the suppressor they show on the website. Some of those suppressor require 51t or 90tp mounts so they are prioritizing supply to go with those new suppressors for sure. That said MidwayUSA has new 51t and 90tp mounts in stock and they did not for more than a year. My buddy is supposed to get me a 51t brake when they run the next batch of 5/8-24, I have several of the 51t 3-prong flash hiders but they just don't look right on a bolt gun.

They did repair it. Cost was $100 + $19 for tax and shipping.

I know the new AAC is was not obligated to repair it, just wish that when I first contacted them about the warranty service that they would have told me that their future was undetermined and they may not be able to service the suppressor. It sounds like they possibly ran out of latches right when I shipped mine, and maybe they were waiting for resupply when the official transition started? I'm not 100% sure, this is just speculation due to the communications I received.

If I had initially contacted them a week prior to when I did, I might have had it repaired and back under warranty prior to the sale.

The people you were dealing with at AAC probably had about as much knowledge as you did regarding what was going on. When deals like this happen everything is business as usual until something changes. And then you find out the changes that were communicated 2 hours ago were supposed to happen last week and management is wondering why you're still doing things the old way...

Glad to hear they are progressing. There isn't a whole lot of information online. but I'm definitely interested to see their improvements.

Happen to have a timeframe of when the 5/8-24 brakes will be available? I'm in the market for one as well.

I don't have anything concrete but its been a couple weeks since we saw each other. That group of friend is due for a lunch get together soon I will try to remember to update if we do.

Thanks for that. And the 5.56 51T is at a discount. Something I usually dont associate with Midway. :)

ETA: By the time they got done with shipping and tax, it still cost me more than the others Ive bought elsewhere. Friggin Midway. If they werent so hard to find anymore, Id have passed and waited.

Midway had free shipping a few days ago, I had some things in my cart but am waiting for a couple of others to come back in stock before I order. Now I see the free shipping has disappeared. Go figure....

They do occasionally have some really good deals, but they also play too many games. A little while back, they had a deal on Vortex scopes, buy the scope, get the $100 mount free. I ordered one, and got the deal. Decided I should get another at that price, and an hour later when I went back, they were on BO. I asked if I ordered it as a BO, would I still get the mount for free? They said if the scope came in before the offer expired, Id get it. If it came in after, I wouldnt. I asked when they expected the scope....the day after the offer ended.

Anymore, unless its one of those really good deals, I normally go elsewhere.
