My LCP Max has become one of my favorite Uber driver and summer and take out the trash gun. But I keep knocking the mag release, with my hands and tight jeans (I’m a guy)

situation: I left pocket carry because I’m a Uber driver and they have a “no gun in your own car” policy. So I left pocket carry for extra concealment.

question: do they make a short aftermarket mag release or a heavy spring? I won’t be needing any tactical reloads

You can use a Glock mag release spring, just cut it to length. It is stiffer than the Ruger OEM.

The factory button doesn't stick out very far, not sure how much lower it could be and still work. Maybe a kydex pocket holster that covers the mag release?

I tried Kydex and it too big, even the desantoes square pocket holster prints to much. The factory sleeve is just right. I wonder if I could just Dremel the release shorter and stretch the spring out??? might work

The three reasons that I would like a LCP Max over the LCPII.
1- reversible magazine release
2- better extractor
3- better sights

Extra capacity is nice.
The only negative is it is a little thicker...

that extractor holds on to that case for dear life. When I’m clearing the gun, you have to really rack it back!

When I first got my Max, I had the magazine come loose a couple times when I was firing it. The spring seemed kind of weak which is why I switched to a Glock spring, hasn't happened since then.

I had the same problem with mine, and tried grinding down the mag release. I did a nice job with it too, and finished it off with a cold blue... I wish I had taken a picture of it, but alas I no longer have this gun. It didn't solve the problem, somehow no matter how I tried to grip it the mag was still popping out on me. The Glock mag spring is a good idea to try.

Glad I’m not the only one with mag release issues. Well that grinding is off the table then. Glock Spring, here I come

Front pockets are tough because the gun gets squished. Maybe try shoulder holster, ankle holster, or cargo pants pocket? That would solve the problem if the mag release is just getting squished.

If the problem is your thumb bumping the mag release as you're shooting, that's just a training thing. I have one pistol where my thumb has to be perfectly placed or it will bump the mag release or slide stop. It took a while, but my thumb knows what to do now.

Use a Smart Carry. No one will ever know, it will be faster and easier to access, especially when sitting down, and you can carry a bigger gun. ;)

nothing says “ I give up in life” like Cargo Pants. My body is too nice for such pocket pants! lol

Just Kidding about Cargo pants! < I don’t hate

LoL! I started wearing them when the kids were little because I always had to have snacks, spare diaper, bottle of water, etc.

Over time I learned that if the shorts and pockets are shaped just right, they're really excellent for carrying a lightweight handgun.

I didn't wear them when I was young and beautiful. They probably weren't invented yet. :)
