OK, folks, we all love to educate one another so here's your chance to educate me. I'm new to the "other than .22" scoped rifle world. I just ordered a Benelli R1 .30-06 in the new Realtree APG HD finish. I'm, also, getting ready to order a Swarovski PH 4-16x50 scope for my new rifle. This is a 30mm scope, and I'll confess that I'm more than a little ignorant of scope mounts. This is where you come in, please.
I have a few questions:
1. I assume Swarovski scopes come w/ NO rings. Am I correct?
2. Benelli's website information is pathetic when it comes to discussing the type of rail that is included w/ each rifle. Does anyone know if this is a rail which accepts just standard rings? I'm quite lost when it comes to the various mounts and names, etc.
It is my intention to use the rail Benelli provides with the rifle. I just need a little guidance concerning what type of rings to purchase if Swarovski doesn't provide a standard set of rings and will they fit my Benelli rail. If you have a favorite ring manufacturer, let me hear it. I'll gladly accept the scope lesson you provide. Thanks in advance.
