So my Dad got all the family together today. Four boys, our wifes, etc etc.

My little brother up from Utah says "hey you gotta check out my new toy". We go out to his truck and he pulls out a fully automatic AR-15 airsoft rifle with a red-dot sight. Thing was sweet and a completely realistic replica (even the weight) except the blaze orange muzzle cap thingy.

We are out in the driveway and I'm looking for something to shoot. I have this great idea that I would shoot at my dad's vinyl fence as a back drop. I shoot two rounds at it in semi-fire mode and the little plastic BB's bounce off nicely.

I switch to full auto and squeeze the trigger....promptly putting about 10 holes in my dad's fence. "Oh crap!" I say. "Maybe we should put that up before we get caught" my little brother says.

So here we are, me 35 and my brother 32 basically replicating almost the exact same thing we did when we were 12 and shot the window with a BB gun.

Good times.

why would it hit harder in full auto?

I have a friend who says when he was a kid he and his brother decided to target practice with a bb gun in the house. They taped a target to the wall and had a grand time until they noticed there was a hole in the wall. So they hung a picture over it. Who would of thought mom would notice that???

I don't think it hit harder, think I hit a spot that was thinner vinyl due to the decoration pattern of the fence. Told my wife what happened after we got home. She laughed at me and said "how did your mom ever survive with 4 boys?"

rocinante is online now Report Post

I once punched a hole in the wall of my room when I was around 13 or 14 (I was very angry for some reason I can't remember, and I didn't expect to cause damage). I ended up putting a poster over it. The hole wasn't discovered until after I had left for college, four years later.
