I was looking around at my Myspace today, and started thinking... am I a stereotyical gun owner? I like to think that I do the movement proud and represent it well. But image conveys alot to people, especially those who are already closed minded.

So... am I a stereotype? And if so does it hurt or help my message?

EDIT: Base this soley on the pictures. The content is for my family and friends and gives a bit of a laugh.

Who am I to judge, or anyone else....

You need a comma after "Bonney" and "b--ch" needs to be lower case.
Right now you are "Whilliam H Bonney Bi-ch" -- looks like it's all part of your name....?

Perhaps I should be a bit more specific. I mean strictly based on my apperance. Myspace is pretty much for those who already know me.

Ok, one question answered. Does it hinder my efforts regarding RKBA (note I have RKBA inked on my forearm).

Which part of your profile has anything to do with making gun culture proud? If all your heroes are outlaws and some well known murderers and backshooters I do not think any true believers in gun rights would want you are their poster child to the anti crowd. Damn they won't even buy into MOSES as having any goodness or credibility.

All I see is ego boasting smack talk. If you are a soldier I give you some credence but all in all your profile is just the usual hot air puff myself up to look bigger rhetoric of a teen ager which is okay. Been there done that. Hell in my own way still do that. Part of the male malaise I guess.

Aside from "guns" listed under interests, no one would even know you are a gun owner.

I also don't really think there is a stereotypical gun owner either. So many different types of people own firearms, you can't really stereotype.

And I should also note that those arent my "heros". They're some of the more hardcore men in history (based soley on my opinion). My hero's are my brothers.

Just based off your front page you do not fit the gun owner stereotype, you do come off as an internet toughguy thug type who is trying too hard. Its a different stereotype all together. Of course its myspace so I'm just happy to see a page that doesn't make my eyes bleed.

I'm sorry, but what do your pictures have to do with being a gun owner? The only gun related pictures appear to showcase Uncle Sam's weaponry.

I don't really get your question as there doesn't seem to be any message regarding RKBA.

At any rate since you asked specifically about pictures - The one with your rifle slung over your shoulder and the appearance of you chugging a beer is probably not poster material for RKBA. Other than that, no issues with pictorial content as related to firearm ownership.

No offense, but since you asked,

between the photo and the intro, you come off as scary, and not somebody I'd want knowing had a gun next to me. *especially the part about satan*

You might be a totally normal decent guy, but I'm just telling you how your profile comes off.

I'd say you're not the stereotypical gun owner.... if I had to stereotype you, it wouldn't be a good stereotype.

But like I said - based on that little amount of info, I really know nothing about you.

I wouldn't consider you a stereotypical gun owner based on your mySpace page.

I like to think that I do the movement proud and represent it well.

What do you do to represent the movement that would be viewed in a positive light? How come that information isn't on your mySpace page? Don't misunderstand -- you can put whatever you wish on your page, it's just that since you're asking the question, I hope not to put you on the defensive, but raise an issue or two.

So... am I a stereotype? And if so does it hurt or help my message?

Again, what message do you wish to convey?

I'd pretty much echo what the rest of the folks said. Your comments about yourself and your "badness" are out on the fringe. When I read some of the stuff, I'm thinking your page probably places gun owners in a fairly bad light. Heck, just look at the way Geraldo practically crucified Wayne Chiang. His page was demure when compared to yours!! I'm really attempting to stay on the high road with my comments, so I'll leave it at that.
