Am I being paranoid?

I registered for the draft on my 18th birthday in 196_.I wasn`t finger printed, but they were very interested in scars -used `em for identification purposes. The lady asked if I had any scars-I had to think for a moment before answering. My brief hesitation caused her to frown at me while picking up a very large pair of scissors.
I suddenly recalled I had a scar on one thumb. Maybe it`s just me, but I could swear she looked disappointed while she put the scissors away.Still, I had to admire her gung ho, can do attitude. I`m sure at least one previously unscarred guy left there with a brand new all purpose identifying scar.
The fact that you are paranoid doesn`t mean there isn`t somebody who is out to get you!

yer right on the money dude!

next sound you hear will be the silent black helicopters coming for you ....

I'm peeved at the state(MO) for dumping info onto the "open market" but it really doesn't make that much difference in the big picture(for me anyway). Among the possible "red flags" that may be placed on me are: American Legion member, NRA life member, retired Federal employee with security clearances, out of business FFL, listed on 1/2 dozen firearms related forums, and other blurps on Big Brother's radar. There are so many categories of activities that can trigger tracking by covert government projects that taking a CCW class is minor.

I felt a little that way prior to getting my CCW permit. I felt it was my right to defend myself regardless of techicalities like permission from the government to carry. I wasn't worried about all the other stuff you mentioned, but maybe I should have been. :)

I got the permit a few years after it was available. Police friends recommended it to me. It wasn't very long after I got the permit that a newspaper published the names or access to the names of all the permit holders in my state which really bugged me. I lived.

Take the class.
Get your CHL.
Get a prescription for Lexapro.

If he was to do this it is possible he may be flagged and said permit taken away for this new fear of a mental disorder. I am just saying. I am kind of on the fence about this one but as someone already pointed out, if you are posting here you are somewhat on the radar already. I know for a fact that the ATF monitors this board and many like it.

The way I look at it is, get your license, worry about being paranoid and protecting your rights when they try and come for them. Thats the only way I can think of to look at it. Otherwise you may drive yourself crazy LOL.

I'm under their radar now.

No, you're not. You posted on a gun forum. You probably bought gun related stuff on the internet. You've been seen patronizing gun stores. You're probably a member of the NRA. You voted. You filed a tax return with the IRS. What's a CCW going to change?

For the guys.
Way back when people lived in caves an ancestor of yours decided it wasn't a good day to go on the daily hunt. Your ancestor took a sick day due to feelings of paranoia. The hunting party didn't return that day. All killed. You exist today as a direct result of paranoia.

Ladies.

One day an ancestor looked out of the cave and had a bad feeling. She didn't go with the others to get water, firewood and forage for plants to consume. Good thing as the others were captured by another group and later died in a fight between 2 groups. Your existance today is the result of that ancestors feelings of paronia that day.

Sorry about what my ancestors did to yours, they should have got out more and done more practice with their clubs!

P.S. They were a bit short handed that day too.

Cell phone call/text interception/manipulation triangulation tower pinging/gps satellite/other satellite pinging. Earth magnetic field tracking/rfid tracking/thermal imaging. Standard 315, 433 radio tracking of your vehicles wireless alarm system. Although bugs/trackers can be made to any continuously hopping frequency. License plate vehicle scanners/facial recognition (from ir scans to cheek bones to ears, etc) software ran on traffic light cameras. Retina scanners, palm scanners, fingerprint scanners, vein (mostly the veins in your arms but can be most parts of body) scanners. The ability to pick up fingerprints off any object. DNA (blood, skin cells, bodily fluids, etc) acquisition from the dirt in the ground at the 6ft deep hole from 25yrs ago. MANY different types of radioactive dating that will tell you the same. Multiple light spectrum analysis and tracking of identifiable marks and location. The ability to determine where you have been and what you have done your entire life by performing many tests on your carcas at the morgue. Radioactive tracking usually from you touching or eating a purposeful object although this usually requires satellite assistance. Bone induction mics, surgical implantation trackers powered by hydroelectric generator fan which are ran by the current of your blood in the vein. Although that is outdated now. Ability to read your thought from a distance of 50 meters away (Actually you could probably get it from x miles away but alot of filters and equipment is needed. Current public knowledge limited to a distance of 1cm). The ability to control your thought and movements by external electric pulses(Usually requires an implant or headset.) Ok and then back to the basics. Internet activity, daily driving routes/walking routes all cataloged. Your food bought at the grocery stores using a store brand discount card is tracked to you to determine your eating habits and frequency. Retail stores tracking purchases/etc credit cards, debit cards, bank accounts, drivers licenses, ids. If paid cash, obviously still trackable but takes more time. Birth certificates, social security, irs taxes, employment, passports, travel history (auto, plane, jet), health records, dentist xrays, mental health records, etc. Gas stations/hotels/rental car/car insurance/registration/television shows/media/police or agency contact etc all do the same. Actual cash, not just from dna or prints but from serial numbers and everything that goes into it(not commercial dyepaks/trackers but actual elements requiring extensive research), magnetic tracking of coins(mostly used as a resonance counterfeit technique but can be used to locate you as well. Casino chip tracking. Then there are specialty items like gun registration, expensive jewelry identification, micro laser engraved diamonds, gold bar serials, also identified by melting down to determine elements of manufacture location. Mortage, loans, trading stock market/futures/bonds/etc. Actual phone bills(even prepaid) although partially stated twice, water, electric, sewer, newspaper, propane(purchased through supplier or self), natural gas, utilities, etc Animal tracking(other than you) like pets you own. Girlfriends, prenups, marriage contracts, relationships. Employer mentioned before but not limited to one single action thought word or deed. Radar lol. Keyloggers, botnets, monitor screen reading from radio waves, wifi, 3g/4g, although these fall in a general category of internet/radio waves stated before. Actual wiretapping on solid wires outside of a building to determine what is said inside by vibrations usually only if a laser mic on the window wont work or you cant get a bug inside, etc Okay I have wasted enough time writing this, but dont think it stops here.

Then there is what most call impossible tracking which I will not touch on for obvious reasons. Time dilation, teleportation, etc

And this doesn't touch on current weaponry(not uav drones) in use that can kill/or incapacitate you from thousand of miles away in under a second.

So in essence is there reason to be paranoid?
No, of course not. Not unless you are or have done something immoral, illegal or unethical and have a guilty conscience.

The state and Federal government already know you're a gun owner if you have ever purchased a firearm from a gun store.

The profile that can be built on any citizen based upon, property taxes, auto registrations, military service, public and private jobs, political and religious affiliations and many other sources essentially puts each of us into a category to be marketed to, controlled or even outlawed.

Also buying a gun, carrying a gun, is a political act. I wish people weren't so afraid to admit that. It's a political act that aligns you with some political groups and puts you at odds with others.

Governer of Missouri recently got in hot water once it was discovered he had turned over everyone (to the Obama administration) who had applied for CCW permits and drivers lic. for the past 4 years. Trust them? lol Legislation in place now to "prevent" this.

No, I havent gotten my CCW yet, but will shortly. I have to have a free sat. to complete it and that has been difficult lately!

I was in a position to work closely with the Secret Service during presidential visits to our city from Gerald Ford to Slick Willie. After watching them do computer background checks on participants at the events you don't need to be concerned about the government getting info on you. They already have it.:(

There are even people who know that you like spam and dinty moore stew because you used your safeway card.

I used a distant neighbors address and only pay using coins because coins don't have serial #'s.

The government already knows all your info. In fact, they probably assigned you 90% of it (SSN, DL, etc). A CHL would only tell them that you had a license to carry a concealed handgun.

You are not alone in these concerns. Most of us wonder what happens to all those lists, all that info that fills up computer memory banks around the country. But, we still get our concealed carry anyway. I'm signed up for a class next month. Paranoid?....not in the delusional sense, but worried too much?...probably.

Based on your post, I agree with not going through with your CWP.....you're not ready yet.....and may never be. Obtaining a CWP also means having thought about it a lot and what it means....if you're paranoid about the government having info on you, you're too late.....thay already have it.
