Am I the first to point out that CLP smells like carrots?

CLP smells like gun product to me.....

In other news, I hear CAT scans are on the rage these days :p!!

Have you had enough harassment for one day? :)

No, I don't get the carrot/CLP connection at all.

My wife made me sleep on the couch when I said gin smelled like scotch tape.

That's just crazy talk. Everybody knows that gin smells like Christmas trees...

I use CLP all the time, and I've never smelled a carrot that smells like that. Then again, I'm not a big carrot fan.

I've always thought Scotch Magic Mending Tape smelled like celery.

And some brands of 2" clear packing tape smell like vanilla.

I just sniffed a little Break Free, and I'm not sure that's "CLP", but yes, it has a slight carroty component, along with an oily smell.

Some of us have more sensitive noses than others, and my Mom once told me I could smell a bee fart in a hurricane.

Sometimes it's nice to have a sensitive nose, sometimes it's not.

One thing that bugs the heck out of me are those deodorants and commercial cleaning products that kill your sense of smell. They themselves have a distinct odor, which goes away soon after smelling them. Because they kill the aforesaid sense of smell. The anesthetic effect lasts as much as a half hour.

Pain in the tuchas if I sniff some of that and then go to lunch. Lunch tastes like cardboard after this "treatment."

The use of that deodorant stuff, to me, is rather like putting out your eyes because you don't want to see graffiti.

Seems to me the cure to smelly bathrooms, etc, is to keep them clean, not to kill your sense of smell.

Gr.

Snarl.

Thanks for triggering this rant. But yes, I think you're right. It does smell slightly like carrots.

Okay, Open season. Everybody post what smells like something else! :D But seriously, I've spent more time around CLP than I care to remember, and I don't remember ever thinking, "Is someone boiling carrots?" Next time you're using gun cleaning products, do yourself a favor, and take those soft ear plugs, and insert them into your nose. ;)

Reminds me of this exchange (can't remember where I heard it):

A: Smells like somebody puked in here.
B: Just a minute--(gets air freshener spray can)--pffft...pffft...
A: Great--now it smells like somebody puked in a gardenia patch.

NOW you're thinkin'! :D

230RN, yeah, the break free CLP in the black aerosol can with yellow print. We are the few, the proud, the nostril elite.

I have a brand-new spray can of the stuff right here, and I just sprayed some of it on my wrist. On sniffing it, it smells kind of industrial, like a combination between a machine shop and new plastic computer gizmos.

Not unpleasant, though. I may spray me again.

Is it toxic?

Carrots don't smell. They have no olfactory organs.
"...Is it toxic?..." Only if you spray it on your wrist. snicker.

LOL !

And it won't even be a full moon until tonight. Wonder what this thread will look like by then.

Ow-ooooooo!

Gotta remember to shave my nose before going to work tomorrow. No kiddin'. I really do have a hairy nose. East European bloodstock, doncha know.

Is it toxic?
Not at all. I've been putting a dab behind my ear to entice my carrot-appreciating wife but I haven't noticed any side effffsdsadsAdssa#A#############}#]3a]a]#W]]33
