Am I the only person who likes Rock River Arms?

My son and I bought LAR 8's in .308 and like them alot. Mine has some grouping issues, could be loads. His shoots really well with imported surplus. Have yet to try handloads. I'd like to know if the barrel requires a break-in procedure. Mine's had 100 rounds through it, his around 35.
Soft shooting .308 for sure

But out there, some people have to bet their life on their AR-15, and RRA will not allow you to do that, PERIOD. It's a fact, just a fact.

And what do you base your "fact" on? I'm only interested in hearing empirical evidence; not interested in hearing anecdotal hearsay or internet gossip.

Great value.

For goodness sake if a guy can afford $8,000 - $9,000 per year on 1,000 boxes of ammo, they certainly shouldn't have any problem buying a new gun or two a year to shoot it in. I have a hard time believing a hard core gun slinger who "bets their life on an AR" would use one that is clapped out from shooting 20K rounds every year, no matter who made it.

I have used several of their stripped lowers, simply because that is what was available locally at a decent price. I tried one of their 2 stage triggers and liked it so well for the price as compared to the Jewell and Gieselle I went thier route on a few others.

Rock River Arms has almost doubled there line of firearms, or that's what it seems like, and no nobody has yet to say anything on THR?
Some folks are probably still waiting on the rifle they ordered in October. I waited six months on a stripped lower.

If they were more concerned with filling orders than introducing new products that they cant deliver in a reasonable amount of time, there might be a little more buzz about them.

I've tried calling a few times about getting a 9mm specific bolt catch. I'm just gonna go with a dedicated Hahn block when funds allow (I have a top-load now). I can buy it from brownells, and they answer the phone.

I have a midlength carbine and a heavy barreled varminter that works just fine. I ordered the carbine and bought the varminter at a gun show before all the craziness started and my carbine was delivered just as they said it would be. I have since been assembling my own ar's and enjoying that aspect. Other than the lack of m4 cuts in the barrel and upper, I have no problem with them.

Mine is built on a NM upper/lower , but those are the only RRA parts in it. But it shoots / runs darn well.

First, you should take a look at the chart. Then, you should spend some time on M4carbine.net, where people actually use their AR-15 for other purposes than killing paper.

Well it is true that I don't shoot 20 K per year or shoot Terrorists but I did put 3K-4K through mine last year and cleaned many of those dangerous paper NRA HighPower Paper Targets without a single FTF. If I had to trust my life to it and not just a medal to pin on my cap I might decide to research the "chart" a bit further..:)

Still waiting for the evidence to support your "facts".

Pretty much my sentiment as well.

I think that chart from Artiz offers a good explanation. Doesn't mean that RRA is a bad rifle. I love mine. Great shooter, great fun, and has great features. But if needed it for more than range and civilian sheepdog purposes, I'd probably get something with some higher QA protocols and material standards.

Working in an inspection/auditing/QA/QC field, I know the importance of those measures.
The water pipes in your home are not nearly as important as an oil line...quality requirements are obviously higher for an oil pipeline. But both operate similarly.

lol can't believe there is a discussion about a AR manufacturer not being up to par on there quality control and the manf in question is not OLYMPIC wow!(i vote rock river makes a good rifle) sure its not the quality of a noveske but over all i still think its pretty good

Pretty sure he is & I fully agree with him..
Agree on what? You need evidence? For what? I don't need to "prove" what I'm saying any longer, read some stuff and spend time on the "channel". On this channel, people don't hate RRA because of the logo, or the name, but because they are not built properly and don't use quality key components, and that is a fact.

I was with you until that.

I don't hate RRA. I really like RRA. My Entry Tactical has been a great rifle and I have zero buyer's remorse. I have buyer's satisfaction.

But I also acknowledge that there are AR platforms of superior build and QC/QA to RRA.

Do I want to spend the money on one with higher QA/QC? Eventually. Probably a Bravo build of some sort.

The only OTR AR15 that carries a comparable price to an oly is CAI.

There's a pretty big gap in the price of oly entry model ARs and those from mid-tier manufactures such as RRA.

And check out the rimfire/pistol cal forum at arfcom. There are lot more problems out of colt clones and builds than olys.

i have one of their m4 entry guns i bought around 8 years ago. very accurate & reliable.with open sights it puts five shots into a hole the size of a quarter at 25 yards.i have a colt preban 6601 but i like the rock river just as much if not better.colt has heavy single stage trigger, much bigger & bulkier.i think they got a contract to supply the dea a few years ago,i dont think they would get a contract from them if they put out a bad product...

Yeah, I'd still like to see a shred of evidence to support your so-called "facts." My "proof" is found on the line at Camp Perry and other proving grounds; not from internet chatter or a decade old chart. When you go running around bashing other peoples' choice of a firearm, you ought to be able to back up your allegations with something more than hyperbole and further rantings.

I have nothing else to say here, I know better.

Maybe you should have stuck with that idea.

I'm still waiting for someone to bring-up that RRA distribute ARMS products...I thought that would bring some displeasure in the first page.
