Does anyone here belong to this organization ? I never heard of them before last night . Last night , while channel surfing , I saw part of an interview being done by one of the local Boston talking head TV newsmen . He was interviewing a guy who , I guess , was a spokesman for this hunting and shooting association . The interview was being done because of the Foxylady shooting . I can't quote exactly what the guy said but most of it sounded very "anti gun ". He did say " why does anyone need one of those rifles " , meaning the AR type rifles . He also bashed the NRA and said his organization was doing all it could to put better & more strict gun laws into effect . I wish I could provide a link to the interview but I don't know how . I did't get the guys name because I missed the first part of the show and just couldn't stand watching the rest of the interview. It was really strange that a group calling themselves a hunting and shooting association would be spewing out some stuff that sounded very "anti gun " .

They are supposedly an independent group of "sportsmen" who reject the NRA's stand against gun control. In fact, they spout the Brady Campaign's "party line" that "sportsmen" don't need "assault rifles" or semi-auto shotguns, or handguns or whatever the Brady bunch has determined is evil this week.

Since at one time or another the Brady group and their allies have campaigned for a ban on just about every kind of firearm ever made, anything their front organization says should be taken with a large grain of salt.

I would assume that the reporter and producer know about the AHSA and are using the news program to foist a charade on the public along the lines of "gun rights advocates support banning assault weapons".

Sadly they are indeed a deceptive front. From both a gun owning and left-wing perspective, they disappoint, as they essentially disrupt any possibility for a left-wing (or moderate) gun-owning/2A alternative to the NRA.

Yeah, like they all said.

They've been around since before the '04 elections. I remember reading on another forum that some of their directors have ties to the Clintons. That should give you all the info you need about them. THEY ARE THE DEVIL, BOBBY BOUCHER!!!

Liars helping associated liars get away with more lies. Lenin would be proud.

What everyone said. They also poison the well for liberals, progressives and moderate pro-gunners. The pro-gunners say that we're just another AHSA. The uninformed on the left say "We already have the AHSA".
