Just saw this on Ch.6 Action News in Philly. The son of Eagles coach Andy Reid got into some trouble today. He was stopped in relation to a road-rage incident. He was allegedly brandishing a handgun at someone. The police found some heroine, and a shotgun and ammo in the car. They then went and searched the Reid home. They found a .45 auto, and ".45 hollow-tip Cop Killer ammo".

I sent them some "educational comments", regarding the fact that hollow-points are the least likely type of bullet to penetrate body armor, due to rapid expansion. I also told them that this was more "inaccurate, anti-gun propaganda", like they care.

If you'd like to throw in your 2 cents, it's www.6abc.com. It's the first story on the site. :cuss:

That's where police found a silver .45 handgun and boxes of hollow tipped cop killer bullets.

If it wasnt so sad, it'd be funny.

crazed ss

Wow! This made the news in San Diego already? I just saw it 20 minutes ago.

offthepaper, at least that idiot is Texas' problem now. We didn't like him from the gitgo. I'll bet he doesn't last long in Dallas, either.

Golly someone needs to send the anti journalist back to school N teach them proper English, or is this the new language of Menglish

I just saw the long version of this story on the 6:00 news. Guess what. They have already changed the rhetoric from "cop killer bullets" to plain old ".45 ACP hollow-tip bullets". Maybe I wasn't the only one who got on them. :D

I'll bet they have no idea what ACP means.

WoW! They changed the text in the article to:

That night police searched Reid's room at his parents' house and found a silver handgun that matches the description. They also found boxes of hollow tipped bullets.

They took out the "Cop Killer" bit. NICE JOB for following up on this! We should all be so vigilant about correcting the media when they butcher firearm terminology like this and spew the garbage they so often do!

I also sent them a comment just to drive the point home further by repetition.

Kudos to those of you who got on them about using such inflammatory (and stupid) jargon.

from what I've read, about 10% of cops killed in the line of duty by gunfire are killed by .22 rimfire bullets. and not armor piercing incendiary .22 rimfire either, just plain old.

I wonder how many news stations around the country will say it was a 45mm automatic assault handgun :p
That's scary to think just about every P.D. in the country issues those cop killer bullets to their own cops! The horror! They are all going to end up dead WHY CAN'T THEY SEE THAT???!!! hehe :neener:

See how they like it when the same technique is applied to them...

In a report frequently laced with language often used by hardcore racists*, Ch.6 Action News in Philadelphia described the troubles faced by the son of Eagles coach Andy Reid...

*(Hardcore racists in the United States often speak English, and tend to use nouns, verbs, adverbs, and adjectives to illustrate their points of view.)

Asinine.

.

Hah! Great work guys!

Maybe we should get onto them for the "Silver" handgun thing too. ;) Though it's better than "Platinum!"

BTW, T.O. is a PUNK!!! :cuss:

".45 hollow-tip Cop Killer ammo".

"Cop Killer Ammo" (besides being a BS buzzword) means Armor Piercing Ammo, not hollow points.

I got in this argument with an anti once and had to explain (with pictures and diagrams off the net) that hollow points are LESS LIKELY to penetrate police body armor than simple FMJ that I use at the range.

The response was "Thats not what I've heard. Thats not whats on TV"

I also seem to recall someone in this forum (or another gun forum) talking about being pulled over and telling the cop he had a CHL. The officer took posession of his weapon and upon removing the magazine got all miffed that the guy was carrying hollow points ... and calling them "Cop Killers".

I firmly believe that any cop killer bullet should be shot on the spot.

There should be no trial and no chance to weasel out through the efforts of some shyster defense lawyer.

I've looked

I'm confused. I have several boxes of hollow point ammo and I've looked all over the boxes. I must be missing it but I can't find were they claim to be cop killer bullets. It must be in real small print.
