But this time you can also look like the winner of Miss CCW 2010 pageant!!

The SD situation is over, and you're standing there with the gun in your hand as the lights and sirens arrive. Obviously the adrenaline-fueled officers responding to a shots fired call will take focus away from your hands and the gun to squint at the distorted letters on the twisted sash wrapped around you. They'll recognize you as one of the good guys, put their guns away, give you slap on the back and and congratulate you on a good shoot!

Right guys?

Guys?

Well, you can laugh if you want too, but the guy who developed this product is an officer with the Reno, Nevada police department. I remember over a year ago when he was working on this project and testing it, he asked for and received feedback from other officers on the force. The response from most of the officers was quite positive, from what I've heard.

Of course, in order to prevent these items from falling into the hands of criminals, the Federal government will mandate that they must be serialized, only persons passing a NICS background check can purchase them from FFL's, and, since they are not classified as long guns, may only be purchased in the buyers state of residence.

Oh, and we'll also have to forbid their export to keep Felipe Calderon from whining and crying that we are supporting Mexican drug cartels.

Really, though - how about a hit man kills his target and then slaps on his Ms. CCW sash after the crime.

This is just dumb, in my humble opinion.

If you really want everyone to know you carry a gun, just open carry it on your belt. <-- the gun, I mean, not the Ms. CCW sash.

Meh...

Could come in handy.

Not something I would spend money on or would want to carry.

I'll Pass. I'm going to go with holstering.

If that's not possible, then I'm going with muzzle pointed at sky, moving very slowly, and doing everything the nice officer tells me to do.

My "CCW Badge" will be the plastic card with my picture on it that the State gave me. I'm sure they'll find it while going through my possessions since I'll be cuffed in the back of a squad car.

Did they like the police version or the CCW version? I suspect they positive response was for the former.

^This.

I await the incident where the criminals get these and when the police arrive make things more interesting than they ought to be ....

You might be waiting a long time. When you order one of these you have to give a copy of your CCW permit. For the cops, the order has to go to your department headquarters. And yes, there are cops in the area that carry them off duty. Hey, if you think getting shot is funny, go ahead and laugh.

Your comment is completely irrelevent. You use the sash AFTER a defensive shooting and the sash is carried folded up and inside of a very small pouch. Whether you carry open or concealed is irrelevent to what you had better be doing AFTER a shooting.

Oh, sure, there won't be an underground market.....:D;)

you what they say there is a sucker born every day. I dont think the cops are going to care a rip about one of those silly things. Yes an officer is selling them but then we go back to the part about one born every day.

It does not matter what you wear or have in your possession if it comes down to pulling your weapon and being put in a situation of having to use it.....When the police show up your going in cuffs...And no Mrs.USA frilly sash or CCW badge is going to help you.You will be treated like everyone else with a gun.
The rest will sort it's self out in the process.

Long an short if it....Don't care if a police officer came up with it.IMHO dumb idea.I think hes just trying to off set his income...Don't blame him but i hope he doesn't quit his day job.

Interesting idea, but I'm undecided on its merits. Anyway, anybody with a little skill and a sewing machine can make their own.

It has NO merit. If it was as easy as just having a sign that says good guy this wouldn't even be necessary. No cop is going to see you wearing one of these and go, "OH you have a CCW sash, that means you are a good guy. We'll take it from here good guy. Thanks for helping us out." Get real. This thing is meaningless.

I realize that as a CCWer this sounds odd... but... its one more thing to carry, and one that I am *very* unlikely to need.
It might be productive, but lets be serious... You're more likely to need extra ammo, a backup gun, a tourniquet, a rifle, a knife, night vision, and perhaps some flash grenades. If you're GECKO45, then perhaps you've gotten to the point where you no longer have anything more productive to carry than a "CCW Sash". I sincerely hope that most people on this forum are not quite there yet.
