Another Glock clone is out, which one is the best?

I built a Glock 22 clone on a Polymer 80 frame using a Glock parts kit and a G22 slide/barrel I found on eBay. I vastly prefer the feel and grip angle over a factory Glock. I didn’t build it to carry, but assuming it was built correctly (and several hundred rounds of testing shows it is) I see no reason not to trust it just as much as a gun built on a Glock factory frame.

I would consider a poverty pony if I were in the market for another striker fired polymer 9, but I'm not. I don’t ever shoot the one I have now.

Considering the price of a Gen 5 G19 for me (under the Glock Blue Label LE program) is $399, I’ll buy it anytime over any of the knock offs.

That being said! I picked up a PSA Dagger for $299 when they had a sale going on and it shoots just fine. It’s in my bug out bag with a Burris Fastfire II on it and a bunch of mags.

For 299, you can’t go wrong. PSA has great customer service if you need anything. I have though about getting one too. They are always having sales it seems.

Why limit yourself to Glocks or Glock clones? It is a masterpiece of design, but not not fully refined. Once it became clear they had no intention of any serious refinement, others decided to do it instead. Now, almost everyone makes a striker-fired pistol, almost all of which are more refined than a Glock.

There are SO many more compelling striker pistol alternatives out there. Don't be narrow-minded.

In Ca I can’t legally build Polymer 80 or other 80% handguns, so I bought stripped Gen 3 Glock frames through my FFL and built a 19,17 and 34 using aftermarket slides/barrels and Glock internals. (The frames were about the same price as an unfinished P-80 kit.)

On the 17 I tried one aftermarket internal set and had lots of reset issues. Once I went OEM (with an Apex trigger-trigger bar) the issues all stopped.

Zev, Grey Ghost, Shadow, Wilson-Vickers and other higher end makers put together really, really nice guns built on the Glock pattern with higher end parts all through. You’re also paying $1,200+ for that gun so the idea of a really budget clone doesn’t apply.

The other lower-priced makers have made several ergonomic improvements on the grip frames and slides, but I don’t know about the QC and durability of their internals. IMHO, outside of range toys (like my builds are) I personally wouldn’t stake my life on a lower-end Glock copy. The high end ones? I’d have no issues.

Thats just me, YMMV.

Stay safe.
